I'm a huge Hitman fan and I played Hitman 4 a lot and pretty hardcore ( going for them SA ranks/ suit only on pro ect)

At first I was really angry at Hitman A.I went as far to call it a betrayal of the franchise.

The main reasonI felt that way is that near thebeginning of the game (after the hotel) there is a segmet that is way too long and involves sneaking behind cover, hiding from cops and using a new crowd cover (like in Assassins creed) mechanic. It didn't feet like Hitman at all and I still think that part of the game is total bullsh*t.

However the game does gets much better.Wen you get too the "cool" levels you really get the sence that this game was made by the same people that made the other hitman games. You get to be creative again and its quite challenging.I'm playing on hard for my 1st playthrough and going full stelth (aka restarting the level/checkpint every time you get detected) requires sh*t tons patience, tiral and error (in a good way) and planning. Most Importantly it feels like Hitman again.

Is it as good as Hitman 4 ? Not a chance. The new costume system, all the sneaking behind cover, the smaller levels, the fact that you don't choose your own equipment and that stupid "hide from cops" part of the game make sure of that but it is a good game and it is a Hitman game.Once you get used to the new game mechanics and learn how to approach your objectives it gets pretty fun.

Wen you realise that the gamepllay is actually good you also start to notice how great the production values are.Hearing 47s voice again is so awesome and nostalgic and the game looks great (atleast on PC).The humor really reminds me of Hitman 4 too.

To sum it up, for me Hitman A is not as good as Hitman 4 but its still a good game and I'm glad I played on even after I was disappointed to understand that.

So whats your expiriance with the game ? Anyone else feel the same way ?

P.S. The cop part of the game is still bullsh*t and I hate it beacuse its Thief + Assassins creed and not Hitman.

jiz.

My opinion of it is fluctuating. Sometimes the Hitman DNA the game does possess flashes to the surface, but the whole thing is greatly diminished by its ambition to instead be a pretty standard stealth game where you hide behind things and wait for people to stop talking and walk past you, then you fail before you get to a checkpoint and get to go through the motions and wait some more all over again, and again and again and again. A lot of the levels are straight up Splinter Cell/MGS ordeals. Even more Hitmany levels have more of that feel to them due to the way disguises work. And the lack of manual saves. It's definitely a disappointing Hitman game. But with that said, I am enjoying it to some degree, despite all the frustrations.

I really want to get this game its nice to see a hitman game that is very accessible.MaskedPlayer

I'm not sure in which way the older entries were not accessible tbh.

You could play either like Rambo, going on a shooting spree and kill everyone or you could kill noone except the target (possibly by making it seem like it was an accident).

It was really all about choice.

They can make it more accessible though.

Add in health regen & two weapon limit. Make the singleplayer shorter and focus on a multiplayer based around perks and weapon unlocks.

I think it looks great and am gonna pick it up tomarrow. Haven't played a proper stealth game in a while.

I'm gonna playthrough the first mission on normal just to learn the controls, get a feel for how the AI works, what options are availalbe to me, etc, and then I'm gonna start over on Purist mode. 'Tis going to be intense :D

Well, two weapon limit is realistic (and Hitman always had a more realistic kind of feel to it) but I'm not sure about health regen.

Health regen with a adrenaline injection perhaps but the "wait in a corner bleeding, regen health in a few seconds by itself" kind of regen is dumb tbh.

To see realistic wound and bleeding simulation in such a game would be pretty cool.

MP is not needed in Hitman at all tbh.

lol Sure, it gets better. Then it gets worse. If you manage to get yourself in the mindset that it's not a Hitman game it's not a bad stealth game though. Currently on the Saints mission. Don't know how many levels it has, but they all seem to be about sneaking behind cover, patiently studying AI paths, using distractions and not ever getting spotted.

I was kidding:P (making the SP shorter? comon why would anyone want that ^^)

If anything I was glad to see Hitman didn't go down the route of modern game design. I'm glad I have a fixed health bar with which I must either finish the level or find something to get my health back if I'm hurt. I'm glad I can carry more than two weapons and that Agent 47 can hide a sniper rifle in the pockets of his pants. That's the gamedesign I like.

I like the game. A solid 8.5/10 in my eyes.

I agree on the hiding from cops part though, I wasn't convinced when I played this part. The missions after it are sublime imo.

I think Hitman Absolution is definitely a good stealth action game, but unfortunatelly it's also a very disappointing Hitman game. The instinct-based gameplay, the new segmented level design and the stupid disguise mechanics are disgusting. You are forced to play the game as a Splinter Cell title too many times and the sandbox sequences are unbelievably small.

I recommend buying Absolution once it's on sale. I also recommend Death to Spies and Death to Spies: Moment of Truth for a true Hitman experience.

I'm starting to dislike the game more and more. There were a few moments where I got that "Hitman feeling", but it didn't last very long.. This game is very inconsistent, some missions are really fun to play but others are extremly short or just really annoying. I'm pretty far in the game and I'm not expecting any big changes now.

Also I find the art direction to be absolutely hideous. In the saints mission there are lens flares and bloom ALL over the place including my frigging head.. Is that really necessary? We get it the effect is supposed to be "cool and hip" but it isn't.. It's so overused it looks downright horrible and don't get me started on those filters and overlays in some levels. Anyone else is noticing a gradient in the upper part of the screen in some levels? God it's so annoying.. It reminds me alot of the gradient in AC: Brotherhood..

Yeah that annoys me as well. Bald peoples heads don't have massive amounts of sun glare like that and the light of my cell phone doesn't blind me when I take it out of my pocket. So if they were going for realism they failed horribly.

I also tried turning down some settings to get rid of that awful sun glare to no avail.:(

Apart from that its a great looking game though.

I'm loving it right now. As soon as I reached the main menu I knew this game was going to be something special (dat CG :o).

The only complaint I have right now is the disguise system. People who are wearing the same uniforms become suspicious of you far to easily and it can be rather frustrating at times. It makes disguises feel more impractical than they should. Hopefully they can tweak this with a patch and make the AI a little less clairvoyant.

I'm at the Darkbladder Park level or whatever and want to punch something. I'm so tired of the sitting and waiting and hiding and watching and then I'm not watching where that other guy is watching on my radar and then I'm spotted and then I have to redo that whole part again what with the sitting and waiting and hiding and watching and then the guy doesn't show up and then he does since I went past a trigger and then I have to redo that whole part again what with the detonating a bomb and shooting everyone in the head and DIIIIIIIEEEEEEEE.

Played some Contracts after that. Depending on the level those can be alright.

Which game do you think is better? AC 3 or Hitman : Absolution. I don't really care about multiplayer but it can be a nice bonus. Also should I get it on my PC or my PS3? My PC can run them both on ultra settings if that matters in your opinion. Also I heard the multiplayer community for AC was weaker on PC should I care about this? Sorry for going off topic but I'm desperate for answers!

I think on easy they spot you less quickly. You get a lot of instinct on normal so I've never had a problem hiding from people who have the same disguise. I go around them as much as possible and I don't use instinct a lot, usually finish the level with a full bar.

What didn't make any sense though was after the stripclub level a chef saw through my bouncer disguise. The game tells you only people with the same outfit will spot you but thats not true.

I'm just more of a fan of hitman so my biased answer is: go for hitman. Even with all its flaws it's still a great game.

Assassin's creed and Hitman look amazing on PC so I would recommend getting them on PC if you can play them on ultra.

It's much, much worse on hard which is the mode I started on. Enemies will spot you through your disguise over 20 feet away with their f*cking backs turned. Not even joking. I'm going to keep at it though. I feel this game was meant to be played on the professional difficulties.

Yeah that doesn't sound like fair difficulty. On normal they spot you immediately if you are a few feet away and they can see your face. That's believable at least.

Do you restart the checkpoint when you get discovered or do you go with it ?

I restart, which has been damning me because I've been stuck on the king of chinatown mission for hours. Trying to get a nice score.

Yeah I do that aswell. Restarting untill I get the result I want. Which can be fun because there are many ways to get to your objective.

But it can also be less fun when the checkpoints are at a bad place and you have to listen to the same conversations over and over again.

I agree with the TC. Yes, there are a couple of levels that are so un-Hitman like, the escaping from cops parts, but there are still enough typical Hitman levels to make this game an enjoyable game. The chinatown levels, Hope Street, The Courthouse, Terminus Hotel etc. Are plenty fun to play through multiple times, to check out the many ways to kill targets.

The contracts mode is also worth checking out, it makes you replay the levels in totally different ways.

This is true, the harder difficulties are a pain in the ass because of this. I did my first playthrough on Expert and how the enemies saw through your disguises pissed me of plenty, especially when you have a disguise with a mask that covers your entire head.

I hope they fix this.

There's way more a-b coverwaiting levels than there are Hitman ones. And the Hitman levels still contain a fair amount of stealthing. The Courthouse level is quite small, all of them are really, but is interesting in that you have to figure out who the targets are yourself. And unlike some levels, it has an alternate stealth around the side path. Was going to put emphasis on "alternate" there, but the formating tools appear to have disappeared. And my linebreaks are getting deleted, so that's great.

I beat the game on hard (all stealth) the 1st time too. Now I'm playing on Expert. Now things get fun, they can spot you extreamley fast ^^.

We just have to exept the fact that its a Hitman game but e very different Hitman game. Still quite good in its own way. Plus its quite challenging on the professional difficulties (hard exper purist).

Btw easy and normal are completely different. I watched few parts of a youtube playthrough on normal and for example in the hospital level they relocated all the electrical fuses in much more hidden andsecluded spots which made it infinitely easier.

Its good they made something for the new commers/casulas and in the same time had that true hitman difficulty from the get go. Good stuff.

Radios are my best friend in this game. Whenever I see one I always take it with me, as it's great for getting through heavilly fortified areas completely undetected. Just set that baby down in a corner (preferably next to a door way so enemies always have their back to you when they go to turn it off), turn it on, run away, wait, profit, and repeat. I had a pile of 11 unconcious dudes laying next to me at one point

Took me a few minutes to dump all of the bodies out a window.

I am a big fan of any throwable weapons. There is something so awesome about throwing a screwdriver right through someone's skull
