I had a Steam account that got wasted due to a glitch since I wanted to play my game without having the disc in the drive.

These days after trying and trying to get my account back with zero results I am upset at Steam and Valve.

These days I think any game from either Valve or Steam are in some elses words "a total waste of time" and I refuse to buy them.

I am just wondering who else has had either Steam or Valve rip them off since these days any game from that developer is an instant NO sale for me in favor of other games.

steam can be buggy, My internet was down, and I couldn't play any single player games, as steam wouldn't boot up. also steam doesn't open up and when you try to play a game, it says that a steam application is already opened, and other crap like that.

You expect no one to agree? How so? Steam has it's share of problems and that's just a fact. Coming from a HL/Steam fan.

Steam is an amazing distribution system. I have never had any problems playing games with or without internet.

You dont have to go complaining about his products just because Gabe Newell ripped the PS3 a new one.

Sounds to me like you were trying to use a crack or something illegal.

steam has its problems, but random loosing of account is not one of them. that guy must have forgotten his password. it has happened in steam forums 2-3 times before

I had a small hack to play the game without having to have the disc inserted; well I got banned and so far its been a no go as far as either getting my money back or my account back so Valve and Steam get a NO sale from me from now on.

Sounds like someone got exactly what they deserved. Steam was created for that exact purpose, to keep peolple from hacking. Get caught and bu-bye. It is totally fair.

Yep, It's my belief that STEAM is a big reason why the PC is heading through another Renaissance. STEAM is associated with the best game of all time, and it's been great over the past few years. Originally I had some issues with it back in 2004, but it has grown to be the best service in gaming by far.

You don't need a hack to play without the CD. You can play it anytime you want anywhere you want. WITHOUT THE CD! What are you on about anyway? Why are you making things up?

There was a period where my steam account wouldn't work for like 5-6 months, but it works now. I'm not a huge fan of steam, it keeps all the games in one place which is nice but it has too many bugs.

Not really, the new firmware hack allows you to play pirated games without MS knowing. This isn't the right place to discuss this, but I thought I'd just correct you.

Yeah, this is what I don't get. One of the best features of Steam is hat it allows you to play any game that is tied to it without the CD.

Either this guy is just really really stupid and doesn't understand how Steam works, or he was trying to do something else that was against the Steam EULA. Either way its hard to feel sorry for him for losing his account.

omfg, people like you. get over it. just because a glitch happened to you doesn't mean that the whole system is a rip off. yes, glitches happen. it is a fact of life. oh, i guess EVERYTHING is a rip off!
