oh boy. I'm sure piracy rates will go down now.
Uh, it says China, not Russia.
hmmm? Piracy is huge in china on apps and games. Street vendors sell pirated software right out in the open.
I'm just saying, they lanched in Russia and the piracy rate hasn't changed at all.
Not going into details, but i think the rate might increase.

service for what? Steam is a form of drm. You dont need it to play pirated games.

That doesn't make sense if your talking about Russia Gabe Newell said Russia was second to Germany in the European Market for Steam. Steam will have much greater success than MS and Sony that's for sure.

Your talking about how the piracy rate might increase if your referring to Russia that wouldn't be possible if its one of steam largest market after it was release there.

Not from Russia, but from China.
And i said "might".
@blueeyedcasva: China might have their own service. Are there any more countries that don't have offical Steam in them?
China doesn't have services that offer what steam does and other countries are irrelevant in this topic.

How would that be possible Chinese user have been using steam before it was considered official I don't see anything that would factor in for a increase in piracy. Steam didn't originally support Chinese currency until recently which would make more accessible to people in China buying games .

Chinese have been using steam even before their currency was official on steam. Blueyeed even link a thread where a chinese user said there were actually a lot of people who do use steam in China.
F2P shit? But look at this chinese game.
Yes, too bad this is a F2P game. I think they should change this game into P2P and release it on consoles and steam, this game have potential if have decent offline and online mode.
You can expect dota 2 player numbers going "slightly" up in steam, so far the chinese have been playing on "perfect world" servers.
