That is for real problems, this one would be for the people who don't have 360s, posting about problems with their 360.:)
Trying to stick our head in the sand are we? The more threads the better I say. Besides it'd be a bit unfair if all 360 negativity would be contained in one thread while the other factions get to bash away freely. On the other hand it'd be a nice testament to the size of the 360's problems. It gets its own dedicated thread in System Wars, home of the most hardcore of fanboys, the other consoles don't.
Anyway, if there is a sticky at some point it should be made by someone who's not you.
I know that some people will obviously lie about it, but I've already seen quite a few people act like everyone is lying about it :|
The 360 hardware really is that bad. It's not Sony, it's not Sony fanboys, "innocent" people are getting screwed over here.

Nah, i think its normal failure rates for advanced electronical device.
I really believe the interwebz and peoples ufounde hatred of MS is the problem.
The problem is not as great as everyone seems to be making it out to be.

According to the Polls on the gamespot homepage. 80% of 360 owners have had their Xbox broken. I didn't know it was that bad. Mine broke after a year, thank the gods I got a product replacement plan at best buy.

The Microsoft hate was stronger back in 2001, and there was never this many complaints about Xbox. In fact Xbox had a pretty good rep as a reliable console. Hell even the PS3 has a reputation as a reliable console and it's cool to hate on Sony these days.
Trust me, it's the 360. Mine has broken 3 times and not one of my other consoles ever broke. I guess it can be hard for some people to accept though, I never had any problems with my PS2 so when everyone was complaining about DREs so I was left thinking "What is all the fuss about?"

Well it was more like 30%, and that isn't the best poll. I could ask 10 people if their PS3 broke, without even making sure they have one.

true
I've just emailed MS and told them I want my out of warranty 360 repaired for free or I'm taking the matter further and will blow the lid on their terrible hardware. My Aunt is a lawyer and works for the biggest soliceters in Europe and America, McFarlens, and will smack down MS if I say the word. They will fix it, or I will take them to court and make them recall every last one of them faulty systems. My Aunt has proof of the scale of the problem from MS employees who she has worked for in the past.NickJayDGood luck with that Matlock. After your warranty has worn off they aren't obligated to repair it for free. Just file a complaint with the BBB or sign on the Class that another dude has already started.

Yes, up until I got my 360 I was sure that people must not have been taking care of their PS2's
Now though I realize that consoles really can be this bad :(

Weird how the PS3 and Wii don't get no unfounded hatred, dontcha think? Guess Shane from EGM and Matt from IGN are haters as well. And that EA amployee. And Australian retailers. And the guy who proved he had 11 broken 360's. And Microsoft adding a heatsink to refurbs, yeah, they're hating themselves, that makes sense.
Just stop and think for a minute. You don't get this amount of anecdotal evidence without a reason. And don't even try to imply that reason is Sony.

If this is true, if you have the means to kick MS arse, then do it already. What are you waiting for? For that reason I'm gonna assume you're lying.
And here's what a lawyer has to say about this whole issue.
What is a consumer to do? Unfortunately, short of a product recall (which seems unlikely given that it has not happened yet and safety is not the issue) or a class action suit, the individual consumer is likely stuck. Why? The cost of an action against Microsoft would be astronomical, and more than likely, they will just settle before any court could place any actual fault on them in order to avoid future, similar suits. This speaks to the failure of consumer protection on the whole.

I think the largest issue with the 360 is it's fanbase. 360 fans refuse to believe that their hardware could have any possible flaws and just allow Microsoft to unjustly screw them over with these faulty systems.
The 360 should have had a remodel by now, but instead they rereleased the same flawed hardware with a bigger hard drive and hdmi. The system is unreliable and is holding the system back in sales. People need to speak out about this problem so Microsoft can finally do something about it.
