Hey guys, I am a huge, huge Street Fighter fan, and was actually very good at SFII back in the day (I would beat the Genesis/SNES Championship edition games in the highest setting with no continues 9/10 times with virtually any character) and I want nothing more than to get my ass handed to me by you young players, now that I'm older (26) and can't keep up with you :)

I am having a super hard time deciding which console to get SFIV for, you have no idea! I have heard the 360 version has better graphics than the PS3 version, is this true? Which plays better online?

I've also heard the Dual Shock 3 plays better than the 360 controller (which to me seems obvious), BUT that the Dual Shock 3 is still crap and you basically *need* to get a 3rd party controller, like a Hori fighting stick, is this true? These are incredibly hard to come by in Canada (we don't even sell the 'fightpads' here at all!).

Anyways, please give me your suggestion on which console to get it for. I have both and I have Live.

All contributions are appreciated.I'm sure this has been done before, but I appreciate any contribution to this thread.

Thanks in advance.

PS3 hands down. The controller is FAR more comfortable for fighting games.

If you plan to play competitively, get a third party stick.... although good luck in finding one right now.

If you rely heavily on the d-pad, then the PS3 is the way to go. However, if you, like me, play with the analog stick, then it doesn't matter.

However, one thing did bother me with the PS3 version. I know people locally that have their own PSN accounts. But when we get together, we can't play on our own accounts from one console. Online is the only option. If I'm wrong, someone please enlighten me.

In terms of presentation, they're practically identical.

The difference in graphics was found by some tech guys and only after zooming in like a 100 times, frame by frame for each version. Undiscernable to a normal person (IGN and game spot they they look identical). The loading times are equal if you install the game on ps3 which is optional other wise its longer. If you cant but a thrid party accesory then go for the ps3 cus the d pad is better. otherwise go with the console ur friends play on most.

XBL has more people to talk to, and more people to fight. If you already have Live, it's the overall better online experience. So, if you're into competition, I'd get the 360 version. Just get a controller that caters more to the game, and you'll be good.

That's why I'm getting the 360 version myself. I rather have a larger pool of players to fight, and a lot more people on the 360 will have mics, which will make the fighting more social and enjoyable, just like fighting a friend side-by-side in an arcade. Good times! :)

I think most multiplayer games will just be spent online, so I guess it doesn't really matter which console I get it for then? I will end up buying a stick most likely down the road, only really need a controller for when I have friends over, as none of them will have the game for Live I don't think.

In that case get ps3 then, when buying a game for either i decide; perfomance issues > online > controller. In that case equal > equal > ps3

You're 26. That's cute. Man, you're still a baby.

Anyway, I guess it'll boil down to your own preferences. If you play primarily with the d-pad, then go with the PS3. If you use the analog stick, it really doesn't matter.

Live anywhere near Winnipeg? Let's be friends.. lol :p

Live I'm thinking would be nice to talk on the headset, but PS3 controller is just so much better, because there is no way in hell I am buying 2 fighting sticks, which has me leaning towards PS3..

TC... you know there's only one way to solve this right??

Buy TWO copies - one for each console!

Lol I'm (half) kidding, but that's exactly what I did. I got the 360 version to play with my buddies once my stick arrives in March, and I'm currently playing on the PS3 because I like it's D-pad more.

It's up to you man, you're going to have to make the choice.
