Still no word on Ace Attorney Investigations 2? Are Capcom really abandoning it?

It's uncanny, really. It always seems like every game I potentially want ends up not coming Stateside which I have to admit kinda makes me want it more. For example I was interested in Tales of Vesperia for the ps3 since I hear it's a nice game, but unfortunately the ps3 version was never released in North America, and I just don't see myself buying another console the 360, for just the one game.

Anyhoo, background introduction aside I really was pleasantly surprised with Ace Attorney Investigations last year when I played it for the first time. I admit I was ready to brush it off as a subpar spin-off but it was actually quite enjoyable.

The fact that Capcom opted to not localize AAI 2 is really saddening. I just don't know why they wouldn't localize it despite it not being a 10 million dollar seller like they apparently expect all their titles to be. I though the Ace Attorney series was popular what with their being a new Ace Attorney + Professor Layton crossover of sorts, so you'd think Capcom would do right by its fans.

I don't know. Was I the only person who was looking forward to AAI 2? Anyone else wish it had been localized and brought over in English?

Its dead, methinks. The entire Phoenix Wright series is awesome, but too niche. Large publishers are looking for home runs nowadays so if a series isn't hitting a million sales they can it.

They're working on AA5 and the crossover with Layton. A DS port would be the last thing on their minds, but I think that Capcom rep, Sven, said digital download might be it's future on the 3DS.

Hmm... hell, if true, I'll take it. Better than nothing. Even if I have no interest in the latest DS iteration, since I never buy handhelds or consoles until 3 or 4 years after initial release.

They'd rather rehash street fighter it seems. This is really sad for AA fans.
