All the weakest consoles won the wars(Same with portable wars too). Coincidence? If that's not enough, the ones that won always had the weaker processors of their major competitors.

Not satisfied yet? All those consoles were the ones that hosted the Dragon Warrior/Quest games. The portables with dragon quests won too. Even more proof, DS is outselling the wii(Best selling console of it's gen) while the DS has the most Dragon Warrior games, and the wii only has a spinoff DW game(Which is why it's winning).

I'm pretty sure SNES >> Genesis in the power department. Snes even had Super FX games in 3d!!

PS1 is better than the N64, PS2 is better than Xbox and GameCube, Wii is better than 360 and PS3. That sounds about right. I guess gamers really are smart.

Alright, 7800 and dreamcast are not subject to this because they were heavily affected by Executive meddling. The 7800 hundred was supposed to be a beast, the leviathan of the gaming world, when it was announced in 1984. In 1984, Atari went under new management and the 7800 was pushed back to 1986, where it made very little impact compared to if it had been released even a year earlier.

No. The PS1 had a ~34MHz CPU (not sure about the GPU, but it was certainly slower), 2MB of system memory and 1MB of video memory. N64's had a 93.75MHz CPU and a 62.5MHz GPU, and 4MB of RAM (without the expansion pak).

Primary because it used CDs. Those gave you a lot of room for textures and video clips. Plus the N64 had a tiny texture buffer IIRC. To be fair N64 games did typically look "smoother"; the hardware could push many more polygons.

I'm not sure I would call the Saturn "stronger" than the PS1. The N64 was also debilitated by it's cartridge format.

I don't know what you're talking about at all.

Nintendo prevented a lot of developers from deciding to develop for the system by opting out of discs. That's why Nintendo went from having the greatest JRPG library out of all the consoles to an abysmal JRPG library.

You can have an amazing console with revolutionary gaes but bad marketing, or apretty goodconsole and have bill gates throw money at everyone to get exclusive rights to everything under the sun. Just because a console sells more doesnt make it better, i mean cmon, brittney spears sells a ton of records but is she an great singer? And as far as the Wii goes... its "fun" to play with but not enough for a serious gamer.
