I mean the weapon is a beam katana, thats going to do a lot of bloody damage and I think it is appropriate to show the damage it does. I have faith that the violence will be tasteful and not gratuitous, probably outstandingly graphic and violent special moves that take skill to achieve and arent just like beating someone with a bat into bloody human oatmeal, but cutting off limbs and slicing and dicing enemies with finesse and a sense of skill and art to it. Slicing through some guys leg and as he falls to that side you come up catching him in the neck decapitating him. Or parrying a blow and taking off his arm with an upper cut and then come back down diagonally through his torso. I mean this is a game about highly professional assassins, this is an art form to them and hopefully thats how things will pan out when it comes to the combat in the game.
I think the problem is No More Heroes is cartoony, Killer 7 was pretty gory but it didn't sell too well if I recall probably best on it's cel-shaded look. Personally, I love the look and am looking forward to the game but time will tell.
