Suikoden rumors on PS3/PSP rise again.

Is this the name of a new Suikoden game?

Konami has been quiet about the Suikoden series. I believe the last official release was Suikoden V on the PlayStation 2 Things may change for the better since Konami trademarked Suikoden Tierkreis in North America for use with "video game software". Chances are good this will be a new entry in the Suikoden series, but before you get your hopes up remember Square Enix cancelled Chrono Break. Hopefully, Konami will warm PSP/PlayStation 3 owners up to the series by releasing Suikoden on the PlayStation Store. It's already been rated by the ESRB.

I use to be a big fan of the Suikoden series when I was a kid. Suikoden 1 and 2 are my favorites. IMO the game went downhill after the 3rd one. istreakforfood

I got to around the last large scale battle in 5 but I found out I missed a character, so I lost the will to go on having gotten every single one I could up to that point... haven't touched it since.. I was doing it without a guide, so when I was closer to the end and found out I missed a guy, it was a pretty horrible feeling. Mostly amazing game overall though, a wide variety of gameplay not often seen in an RPG, from mass scale, to 1 on 1 to typical RPG battles, 3 and 5 were definatly both quite amazing, 1 and 2 I don't remebere quite so much but I do remebere enjoying them, more would be welcome. 110million

Normally, I am really far from perfectionist, but I had a lot of free time when I played so I thought I'd try to get them all, most games I tend to rush and skip quite a few of the side quests, and usually go back and such, I will probably get around to it though, after I complete my current list of games.

Lets hope there is some truth to this coming out sometime soon.Jynxzor

We just don't get decent PSone support, never have, never will. It's just not very high on SCEA's priority list. They think we want games like Elefunk, rather than classics like Suikoden or Blood Omen: LoK. (they are so, so, so wrong)

Nothing about throwing money at develops screams to me "smart and efficient" Maybe for the devs to just smile and take the money, but I don't like how that works either way.

The Xbox 360 seems to be attracting mid-tier JRPGs a lot lately. Suikoden fits the bill.

They have a remake of 1&2 for the PSP, but never brought it over here. I really hope they bring that over here. I want to play Suikoden 2 without paying like $70+ on it.

But we shouldn't assume the next one will be on the PS3 only, people were listing Star Ocean 4 as a killer PS3 only game, then it became a 360 exclusive.

I hope my dream come true, a next-gen Suikoden wooooooooo.

IV and V were pretty mediocre in my book, but I remember loving III.

I think I'll get Suikoden I & II for PSP.

In terms of popularity, its on the same level as Tales, Star Ocean, etc. etc.

Go back in time and ask Square Enix that when they shifted to the Playstation.

Final Fantasy didn't hit the mainsteam until FF7 hit the Playstation. It had a dedicated core fanbase on the Nintendo platforms, and I'm sure many arguements were made at that time that the move could kill the franchise. It didn't. I don't know those characters either, actually, I only played the first game in it's prime. But I do know who Grimio, Pahn, and Odessa are.

I should have clarified what I meant, because it is a great series which is why it should go to the 360.

Suikoden on the PSP and PS3 would be cool. The series os pretty good except for the 4th title.

I have no desire to play any already released Suiko game except part two. I hated three, and the rest have looked pretty middling since then as well. I'm not even sure the first is still any good, nostalgia may be propping it up for me, it was my first PSone RPG.CronoSquall

I remember playing Suikoden 4 for like the first 30-50 minutes then it freezed on me, the beginning of the game was kinda cool, the festival and the mysterious guy appearing at night, I remember the game freezing on the first battle in the ship, thats how far I could play S4 backthen.

I don't know about the rest of the game though, maybe you are right.

And S5 sounds more interesting from what you are saying.

I think the only stubborn person left and support the PS3 is Kojima, Suikoden people would go after the money first, who knows? maybe Konami still support Sony and go PS3 exclusive, it could go either way, lets just wait and see what happens.

I hope it is for the PS3 and not the PSP. Besides, Playstation owners need an RPG. This would be perfect. It'll probably go to the 360 though. That would crush the fanboys.SuikoGremio
