Super Mario 3D All-Stars Review - 8

Here's a review about those jumpy games, fairly low score for a Nintendo package with games generally revered as the greatest, mostest games of all most.

Would be an excellent score for Xbox or Sony, no doubt.

Found out they aren't even ports, they are emulated roms.

Nintendo hitting new lows with their laziness.

If on Xbox, GS 3/10 if lucky. :P

Take out all rom sites so they can become the de facto source, at a premium price.

Scores do not matter. It's a limited edition collectors item.

If this does well on most sites and sells well, be sure to have a large amount of these lazy af ports. If they weren't on an underpowered system like the Switch, they wouldn't be even made because nobody would let such cashgrab pass. Nintendo really does have their own standards lol

yup, it should've come with a mario statue, kinda like how the Zelda: WW remaster came with a Ganon statue.

but then again, actual effort was put into the Zelda: WW remaster.

Cool. Really looking forward to picking up my copy in a couple of days. I haven’t played Mario 64 since back on the N64 days. Got all the stars there, can’t wait to get all the stars again in this version. Never played Sunshine so looking forward to finally giving it a try here. Super Mario Galaxy is one of the greatest games of all time so I’m always into playing that some more.

Eh, fine by me. I rather play anything else.

At least you get to play these on a portable. That alone makes it awesome.

Decent enough score and will probably pick them up as I haven’t played any of them before!

@hardwenzen: most games don't even sell well the first time. So lazy ports ain't exactly going to be a lottery win for most publishers.

8 is a great score unless you are on drugs.

Agreed, it's an incredibly pathetic score.

Pc gamers can do better, kids in a room at the weekend with no pay, put more effort than what Nintendo, demanding premium price are demanding here.

Of course, they know their consumer base will gobble up any old shit, it's like an indoctrinated cult with years of conditioning.

It's 83 in metacritic right now; the Switch versions of Spyro Reignited Trilogy got a 79 and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy a 78 respectively.

Inferior franchises, all the more damming.

@uninspiredcup: Well yes, I just wanted to attract the conversation to metacritic just to mention later that Spelunky 2 has a 91 and 13 Sentinels Aegis Rim 87, two games that i will be promoting as if the companies that made them paid me.

This could have gotten a 1 and it would not have prevented it from selling like crazy. People know exactly what they are getting with this game. 3 great 3D Mario Games nothing less and definitely nothing more. People can complain all they want about it, does not change the greatness of the games.

@SolidGame_basic: True, it's a reason to buy just for the portability alone. I used to own SM64DS, and that game does not control well. It was designed to work around the d-pad, so even when using the circle pad on a 3DS, it's just clunky and sloppy. Looking forward to picking up my preorder on Friday.

Still gonna pick it up at some point, but the fact it's emulated is hilarious.

No thanks I don’t want emulation all stars with no Wii mote pointing and no 8 way analog thumb ridges.

I think it's funny that the Switch got a emulated version of Super Mario 64, right after PC got a native version.

Inb4 somebody compiles it and makes it run on Switch... probably already done.

It's crazy just how much better Nintendo fans are at making Nintendo games than Nintendo.

Funny thing is, modders are actually happy that these are emulated versions. Can likely inject their own games easier.

It should've included Galaxy 2 too. Ridiculous.

@pixievalerie: Kinda wish they just done a double pack with Galaxy 1/2 with cleaned up visuals.

Mean, can easily just emulate it, but it is kind of a hassle to do.

Only with Nintendo can we "wish" for things. If this was an important game/series rereleased on the PS4/5, it would've been a remake, and not just a "i wish they would've done X". And people defend their practices... i will never understand that.

I friggin called this. I said the menu looked like trash and Nintendo didn't put any time into this collection.

Honestly I'm still disappointment that the games didn't get a remake. I know that many are excited for it but I'm just not interested in it. Also the 3D Mario game that definitely needs a remaster is Mario 64 DS. I wish that I can play that game on a TV with a higher resolution and with full analog stick controls.

I don't get why Galaxy 2 isn't there also. I mean, just seems like it should be given Galaxy's inclusion.
