No, that's not true
you can compare them, but galaxy looks much much better
[QUOTE="Ollivander"][QUOTE="c_smithii"]Super Mario Galaxy, 640x480 at30fps
Halo 3, 1152x640 at 30fps

Galaxy runs at 60 FPS
Halo 3 runs at 60 FPS also, my mistake.

I agree. A better comparison would be:
halo 3 vs. MP3
SMG vs. Kameo

of course you can compare SMG graphics to Halo 3, it'll go something like this:
SMG looks like a steaming pile of Poo when compared with halo 3, graphically.
See?
So my answer would be yes.

Huh? That's not right, Halo 3 runs in 1080i on my TV. What kind of TV you have?

Just so we are clear, Halo 3 does run at 30FPS and Galaxy runs at 60FPS right?
and that's 30 frames per second for Halo 3
and 60 interlace fields per second for Galaxy as Wii is a standard definition console.
60 frames per second is reserved for 1080p content.

1152x640 is over 100% more pixels than 640x480. And Halo 3 has top notch HDR

What the heck are you talking about? Galaxy can do 480p at 60 fps. How is that interlaced?

Well if you're playing it off of a standard definition, the point that it can do 60 frames is sort of moot if the TV can only do 30 frames.
[QUOTE="c_smithii"]corrected, Mario Glaxay is widescreen you know and runs at 60FPSSuper Mario Galaxy, 852x480 at 60fps
Halo 3, 1152x640 at 30fps
chansaet
1024x768 Plasmas are also widescreen, although 1024x768 resolution is really fullscreen.
Wii Games are neither 852x480 or 640x480, they are 720x480.
It's really not much of a debate since it's like comparing Star Wars and Monsters Inc as far as design.
But it's how you design with what you're given and not what you're given to design with......
On a side note....does anyone with HD notice that movies that are animated look better than all the rest? The best looking movie I've seen in HD is Cars.........it's loooks 50x better than the standard dvd version.
Maybe if Super Mario Galaxy was running on the 360's Hardware we'd have something to discuss. But for now they both look great, But Halo is the better graphical game.
