Joking aside, that's cool. Will probably give them a nice boost as far as investors go and I'm guessing the game itself will generate quite a bit of money itself.

Btw, the way it was word (Apple/iOS first) makes it sound it will be a temp. exclusive.

This partnership with Apple is making me rethink what Nintendo plans with the NX.

Almost like they are counting on the NX to fail to go 100% mobile.

Yea? Well it seems to be a crowd of people that teased "Cows" about PS Now coming to PC. Curious to see if those same flames will burn toward "Sheep" Now that Nintendo is no longer exclusive to Nintendo hardware? These games will most likely be tied to or require MyNintendo accounts. If they get games on iOS, Andriod and PC may not be far behind.

So its Mario for people on the go who don't have a 3ds, & maybe don't own a Wii U. I'm cool with that, looks like nothing I'd buy, but each to their own.

It's uninspiring because it looks more of the same being still the New Super Mario Engine, only tweaked to run on a phone. There is nothing special about it at all, especially the gameplay mechanics with just tapping the screen to jump. Sure it will be the number 1 download game for both iTunes and the Google Play store, but the trend will wane off.

My kids are going to love this game running on their iPads.

Haven't really looked at other runner type games on mobile so I wouldn't know if this Mario game is anything deeper or more nuanced compared to them. If there's one thing that I don't care for is the re-using of the NSMB style.

Whatever though, as long as this doesn't eat into Nintendo's usual software efforts and this isn't a sign of things to come for the NX, then I don't really mind this game's existence.

I have no interest in runner games but this will print money for them. Nudging ever closer to that sweet third party status! Today iPhone Mario games, in a couple years PC Zelda games ;)

So it begins... I no longer have much hope for Animal Crossing or Fire Emblem. Maybe I was stupid to think Nintendo would find a way of bringing actual, fun GAMES to mobile instead of just these pointless 5 minute time wasters.

I'm predicting the next announcement will be a Metroid Clone of Tomb Raider: Relic Run.

They didn't release a price though. Unless you mean by the fact that you have to pay at least the average for a mobile game to get less of an experience than with Sonic Run. I haven't played Sonic Run so I'm not sure how that's structured, but if it's an endless running simulator with no levels or anything else attached to it, then I think Super Mario Run is at least offering you a little more with battle mode, a campaign of sorts, and an endless run all in one package (and whatever else I missed). Can't imagine they'd price it more than $5-7. It's not exactly the most exciting thing ever, but it could have been a lot worse and at least they're capitalizing off the strength of the IP as opposed to throwing it into some weird genre it doesn't belong (though Mario was doing parkour of sorts around enemies in the trailer).

The transition of NINTENDO being a 3rd party developer already setting. If NX fails that is.

Well, bar Federation Force, there WAS that time Activision and Marvel tried to get Samus and Link to fight alongside Marvel Superheroes (which thankfully did not happen), so anything could happen.

The Nintendo boss said this was a part of their plan with the MyNintendo accounts. Mobile gaming, console gaming. Nintendo is also in bed with Comcast and their line of amusement parks. Miitomo and Pokemon GO were just the beginning of their plans. No telling what is next.
