Super Mario Odyssey is Banjo-Kazooie

First off, Mario Odyssey is insanely good, and Nintendo's second 10/10 game this year, which I don't think has happened before (in terms of exclusives).

I kept feeling like I've played this type of platformer before, and it finally hit me when I flew into the beach: This is Banjo-Kazooie. Each Banjo level with this sprawling sandbox with tons of things to do, each level had its own individual set of problems for the player to solve, as well as a handful of tasks that you'd find in every level (a la, collecting jingos in BK, or the Goomba-luring in Odyssey).

Anyway, short version: Super Mario Odyssey is Banjo-Kazooie. And that is awesome because Microsoft clearly has no interest in making any more Banjo titles, which is a travesty.

Well...Banjo Kazooie is Super Mario 64...

Mario 64 is Croc.

Odyssey > Mario 64 > Banjo

All super close in my eyes, but Banjo didn’t hold up as well for me when I replayed it in Rare Replay.

@sHaDyCuBe321: You can tell playing it that it definitely wasn't made for the Xbox One controller. It still plays quite well on the n64.

This is the greatest game of all time, the sheer variety is insane, not to mention controls that rival the best of sm64 in a 3D platformer. This is literally my dream game and true successor to not only sm64, but banjo kazooie as well(sry yooka laylee)

yes since rare gave up making a good platformer mario took on full duties.

the transformations were in galaxy too. remember bee mario, cloud mario, rock mario...etc...

@uninspiredcup: Croc sucked so Mario 64 is still much better. Also, Croc came out a year after and couldn't compare

Zelda isn't exclusive. I played it on WiiU.

Microsoft had Rare make a series of very good to great "cuddly" games back in the good old 360 days. Kameo, Banjo, Viva Pinata 1 and 2 were all colourful, joyful and fun games. But Xbox gamers just didn't buy them. They didn't care. Sadly, Rare's Kinect garbage outsold all their "real" games combined and then some. I blame the gamers, not MS. Now, for destroying Lionhead and Fable, THAT is where you blame MS!

PS: I'm glad we have yet another awesome Mario title!
