I wonder if those sales also helped spur more profitability for them. I bought this on both PC and Live.

Steam works very well, not surprising. Microsoft points are just an annoyance.

So true, but without a credit card I can't buy games on Steam. So I tend to buy things on my 360 instead.

You can always buy a Mastercard/Visa gift card from the store and use that instead of a credit/debit card. The only bad thing about that is paying for the activation fees which add up over time.

Prepaid cards arent credit. They have no effect on your credit score since they dont rely on credit.

It is quite sad when hermits make a thread bragging about one PC game selling more than 360 version. I wonder what would happen if lemmings started listing all the multiplats that have sold the most on 360......

Edit: Is rockpapershotgun.com run by SW hermits?

The debate would rage on as it turns to exclusive sales. Plus, numbers would be skewed due to a lack of access to DD sales. The debate would rely solely on publisher releases, which often don't contain numbers.

The funny thing is Super Meat Boy is a platformer, a console centered genre. It's like seeing a strategy game selling better on x360 than PC.

Would those add to my credit score too? Casue that's the reason I don't have a credit card right now.

EliteM0nk3y

No. It's not like an actual credit card where if you lose it, then someone can buy thousands of dollars worth of junk on it. If you buy a $25 gift card and you use $19 and if someone gets a hold of it, they can only use the remaining $6 on there.

The gift card acts like a credit card, letting you make purchases in store as well as online purchases, but it is not a real credit card and will not apply to your credit score. It's no different than a grandmother buying her 8 year old grandson a $10 gift card so he can buy toys and stuff. He won't receive a credit score because there is no personal information of his on the card.

With a gift card, if you want to make an online purchase, you just have to log in with the card and enter in some quick information (nothing personal) that allows you to buy items online anywhere (including Steam). After the funds are used, you can cut up the card and throw it away. Whatever you decide to buy will never be applied to your credit score. With a real credit card, they require a social security and other nonsense that would apply to one's credit score.

The only other option besides a gift card would be a debit card which is also not a credit card. It's more cost effective than a gift card if you buy online a lot. A debit card is attached to a checking account at a bank, so you can only use the amount of funds that is in the account, whatever it may be. You are also given two different security codes for the card that allows only you to use the card in the store and online. Any purchases you make will only deduct the cost from the account, and it will not count towards your credit score.

I recommend you just try using a gift card first until you feel comfortable. Hopefully that helps.

Lol. you are comparing bug budget games with mass marketing behind them against a game from an independent Indie. This again show PC gamers

pay for originality more and reward the creators of it.

Why a 'but'? You'd think it's a good thing you can get a game for cheap.

Not surprised, the PC community has always been more warmer to indie game makers. Plus the advertisement on Newgrounds would have helped too.

How do you use your debit card on Steam? As I can't see an option for it.

NOTE: I live in Canada, if that happens to affect anything.

When you add a game to your cart on Steam and proceed to checkout, you should see several payment options. You would chose credit card and then chose your provider (MasterCard, Visa, Discover, etc.) then enter in the fields as it asks you to fill in. The debit card acts like a credit card, so you would treat it like a credit card and enter in the digits all the same. This does not mean it will turn into a credit card. Most online stores will ask for credit card numbers, but you can enter in the debit card numbers in its place. It still counts.

Well I can't since my debit card is missing security codes, expiry date etc (since it's a debit card).

Your experation date is usually on the front of the card next to your name, and the code you use online is on the back. It's normally a 3 digit code.

expiry date must be in there debit or not . Security code there are cards that have them others not . If it dont have a security code just dont enter it and it will still be ok You can always though make an internet card with your bank ( Visa , mastercard or any other) and use the debit to charge the internet card through online banking

It's only the complete idiots that believe that PC gaming is dying(though most of the claims come from sad trolls); and you must be sensitive to be so defensive. No one in their right mind would think PC gaming is going down.

It's $15 on both. It $3 on Steam during a sale, and $10 during 2 sales on the 360
