Masahiro Sakurai is one of Nintendo's most valuable employees, having been at the forefront of franchises such as Kirby, Nintendo's all star mascot crossover fighting franchise Super Smash Bros., and the upcoming revival for the Kid Icarus series. However, it seems that his gaming tastes aren't limited to just Nintendo alone, since apparently, he absolutely loves Naughty Dog's newest magnum opus Uncharted 3.

On his Twitter,he offered great praise for Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception. He described the game as incredible, and joked that it's extremely troubling that Naughty Dog is able to crank out one after another at such high level.

In a later tweet, he said that he's happy to hear Drake's signature "Aa, Kusso!" line. Uncharted players can probably figure out what that is in English.

He also went on to admit that he has about 10 PSP systems, and revealed himself to be a PS3 gamer, stating that the first generation 60GB PS3 is absolutely essential since it offers backwards compatibility with the PS2.

Most of the fighting game community hates that franchise. They put it as low as anime fighters (some exceptions).

I've had Melee since it was first released. I don't enjoy how the game plays at all. It's fine if others do.

Smash Bros. is a fun timesink for use at parties or when messing around with friends. Nothing more.

I also think its charm vanishes pretty quickly.

It's not hate, charizard. I'm just pointing out the flaws of the game.

I do it for every game I play, and especially for the ones I love the most. Not that I particularly love Smash Bros.

That's because you're playing it wrong. Anyway, Sakurai gets a lot of hate in the Smash community but he seems like a pretty cool guy. I wish there would be some sort of competitor to Smash and so far there hasn't been a viable challenger. It would have been pretty awesome if Sakurai got burnt enough by the Nintendo execs' bull**** and made Super Sellout Bros on PS3. Might have been a pretty good game too. I can confirm that Smash Bros plays a lot better on the Dualshock 3 than the Gamecube controller. Crazy, I know.

If it floats your boat, Action, more power to ya. I think Smash isn't anywhere near the level of other fighting games in regards to tournament play.

But in the end, I neither care nor am versed enough in the finer points of Tournament Play to make a credible assessment. :P

I put the term "real fighter" right next to "hardcore game" so that means i don't believe at all in that term, a fighter is a fighter.

Anyway, i have to say, Super Smash Bros Brawl is probably one of the best and most complete games this gen, i can't wait for 4, specially with the newcomer, Nathan Drake...or even better, Crash Bandicoot :o

I agree, man. Super Smash Bros may not be a traditional fighter, nor will most anime based fighters be praised by the fighting game community, but it can still be regarded as a fighting game.

As far as gameplay goes, he'd be like a slower, heavier version of Sheik maybe. His normals could come right from the game. For specials, he doesn't need guns. Sakurai and his team are creative enough. Here's something I came up with quickly: Up B: Pull's parachute on cargo crate. Doesn't have much of a vertical recovery, but can float far horizontally and can cling to the outside wall of the stage and climb up. Side B: Lunge roll Down B: Finds treasure. Throwable projectile. Treasure type is random Neutral B: Reads journal to see which treasure is most effective against enemy. Small doodles of enemy characters with weakness treasure appear in a thought bubble above Drake. Enemy's treasure weakness changes regularly. Throwing the wrong treasure at the enemy replenishes some of their health.

Like Solid Snake? :P Honestly I think it's possible that Sakurai will make some Sony games. Apparently he was really burnt by Nintendo during the final days of Hal Labs, which is why he quit. And then Nintendo basically threatened him to make Brawl. "Make a sequel or we will rerelease melee with wifi." NOW Nintendo announces that two Smash Bros games will be made before he has even hired a team. If those become vaporware I would not be shocked.

I highly doubt Sakurai will switch. Remember, he shares a personal rapport with Iwata, as long as Iwata is at the head, he will not leave. Moreover, he JUST co-founded Sora with Nintendo (of which Nintendo owns 80%, btw- something he would not have consented to unless he planned on staying with Nintendo for the long term). He was disenfranchised with HAL, which is why he left, but then he went freelancer for a few years. What company did he eventually return to? Nintendo, there has to be a reason for that. Moreover, Nintendo did not threaten Sakurai, Iwata personally requested Sakurai to direct Brawl (since Iwata had promised Sakurai that he would get to direct the new Smash Bros game whenever it was made, regardless of the fact that Sakurai had quit HAL). Also, Nintendo announced those two publicly AFTER getting the get go from Sakurai, because, in Sakurai's own words, he needs to attract developers, and he is hoping this announcement will attract developers. I mean, games don't get much bigger than Smash Bros. Even then, ASSUMING that in spite of all that, Sakurai somehow decided to give up on Smash Bros. 4, the games will not become vaporware, as Nintendo will simply substitute him with some other director. Finally, Solid Snake was third party. Nathan Drake is en route to becoming Sony's mascot, no way does he appear in a Nintendo game, on a Nintendo system.

It's also VERY possible for Sony to exit the hardware market if they continue their poor success this gen with the PS4 and Vita. If Sony becomes the next Sega, they'll license their properties between the surviving competition. If they don't go multiplat, games like God of War and Killzone could get licensed for Microsoft's console and games like Uncharted and Little Big Planet might become Nintendo exclusives. We'll see. Separate discussion, but I am very excited to see what happens next gen. I think it's entirely possible for both Sony and Microsoft to just cut their losses and focus on their respective electronics/software businesses, leaving the Wii U as the only dedicated console. Call me crazy.

Naughty Dog have definitely earned respect from every developer. Now ND should indeed return the favour by letting Drake appear in SSB.

In my opinion: Jak&Daxter>Crash>Uncharted

But they're all great.

Oh well. Doesn't stop it from being one of the all-time great tournament fighters.

I know there are tournies, but doesn't deny that it is not a competitive-designed game For example, I don't like eating poop. If you put the best chocolate and vanilla fudge on it, I still won't like it.

Lol Nathan Drake in Super Smash bros. Now how would that work? Similar to Snake but a more agile character maybe?

ActionRemix

Interesting idea. I still reckon Drake would be fairly quick but maybe not as quick as Sheik and fairly strong too imo.

That's the mark of a truely great game, when other developers take notice of the work of another develoeprs and use it as a bar to crate their game or submit praise, it's the highest praise a game can get.

There can be no second guessing when the developer of another game publicly bits the bullet and says, "Man that is just an amazing game" of their own free will with nothing to gain.Over game reviewers that can be biasd, or websites that make contraversial scores to get hits, or gamers that liein order to hype or discredit agame because of their favorite platform....One mark of approval that can't be questioned is thepraise of adeveloper on ANOTHER developers game.

Good going ND.

This isn't anything new Miyamoto's favorite non-Nintendo game at E3 2011 was Sound Shapes on Vita.

At one E3 he liked Killzone 2 or Killzone 3.

His favorite Non-Nintendo game at E3 2007 was Skate.

Not surprising that he thinks so highly of it, it just reaffirms its greatness if anything.
