Super Smash Bros isnt even a AAA franchise

Honestly is there even any 3rd party new games to be excited about for the Wii? All I see you sheep hyping around here is teh SSB and Mario.

Fun. That's it.

Tetris was fun. SMB was fun. FF was fun. SimCity was fun.....

That was the only factor. Not a stupid arbitrary number.

Most people who buy a Wii are usually just interested in Nintendo games. Sure there are some thid party games here and there. But who buys a Nintendo console not wanting a Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Smash Bros, or Star Fox game? A lot of peoplebought Wii's for it's first party games.

Have you ever thought that maybe people who bought the Wii might not want or like Halo, Metal Gear, Gears of War, etc? People would have spent the extra $50 (now $30) for the Xbox 360 if they were interested in it. Don't hate on people just because they don't share your taste in games.

What he does have a point. When i got my N64 when i was like 6 years old i never knew about any game reviews. i just played what i thought was fun just like what he said. Personally i hate reviews. If a game is fun ill play it. ALL GAME REVIEWS FOR ANY SITE IS OVER RATED.

Smash Bros. is not a AAA franchise here at gamespot. But over at metacritic you can see melee has an average score of 92%, including eight perfect 10s, a 9.6 from IGN and 9.5 from EGM. And even Gamespot's review of Melee is only one point below AAA.

I do however think sheep are foolish to hype Brawl as AAA. Gamespot is not likely to give it that score. But if you are basing your purchases off Gamespot's scores you need to broaden your horizons a lot.

IGN this EGM that GUESS WHAT BUDDY? Those don't make a damn bit of a difference here at GAMESPOT! GAMESPOT is the source for our reviews and they are the ONLY legit source for ownage here at GAMESPOT.

brawl is much more than an AAA game. Melee was enough reason to own a cube.

No its becuase they create a bunch of people like you that only care about reviews and wont play a game if one person in the whole world gives it a bad score.

Dude... look around, you see that in real life too. And no, that's not the reason I don't trust GS.

I'm fine with GS giving TP 8.8, because I KNOW that for ME it was a 9.7, and what some guy says can't change that. And also, WTF is so important about getting a 9? Would lair have been less of a flop if it had recieved 5.0?

MGS isn't an AAA franchise (much more AA's than AAA's). People hype MGS4 as being AAA.
Killzone isn't an AAA franchise. People hype Killzone 2 as being AAA.

On the other hand, sequals to AAA-AAAA franchises have been gaining AA's recently. So series' ratings can go up or down over time.

Still, I don't see it getting AAA.

It's not all a Nintendo console offers. For my Wii so far, I've got two third-pary titles and one second-party (which is often categorized with first-party for obvious reasons), while I have 2 first-party games.

And, even if that was all that Nintendo consoles offer.... it would be good for everyone EXCEPT Nintendo for them to go software. Nintendo is in it for themselves, not for everyone else.

Here's the thing, buddy. I don't follow the news of the gaming industry so I can laugh at people who got a little overexcited about a game. I actually play games. So when I'm considering buying a game, I don't base my choice off a single review site, especially one that so frequently goes against the general trend of reviewers.

Instead of acting superior over other people because of the daftest things, you should try actually playing some games. Based on your obvious console preference, I reccommend Resistance, but don't go online or I'll kick your ass.
