Survey: UK Xbox 360 Owners Spend 64 a Month in the Xbox Marketplace

Sheesh you cats spend a bunch of money on DD, must be those pesky leftover MS points that compel you to buy more ? :twisted:

Microsoft has revealed that Xbox 360 owners in the UK spend an average of £64 (approximately $104) every month on downloads from the Xbox Live Marketplace.

According to a survey carried out by Microsoft Advertising, and reported by UK trade paper MCV, 13 per cent of Xbox 360 users spend even more -- over £100 ($162) a month.

251 Xbox 360 gamers were surveyed, aged between 25 and 34 years old. 83 per cent said they play on their Xbox 360 three to four days a week.

41 per cent of those surveyed said that they play between three to fours of gaming every day.

Microsoft Advertising's head of research for data and analytics Julie Forey said of the survey: "Compared against the average male, gamers represent an attractive proposition for marketers".

"Earning a higher wage, being advocates of premium goods and over half playing for more than three hours each day, this provides firms with a profile from which they can base their message."

Unsurprisingly, the most popular game genre among those surveyed was shooters, with racing and RPGs following behind.

Its an average extrapolated from a fairly small sample it's almost certainly a smaller amount of money in reality, That said I would say theres probably a fairly significant amount spent every month on content from Xbox live.

I've spent a little bit, probably 8 - 10 XBLA games and DLC for Borderlands, RDR, ME and others like that but atm, I'm down to 80 ms points, just the right amount for a Indie game. :)

i'm prolly going to use it on the minecraft copy that coming out for a dollar.

anyway i don't believe this at all or if it is in some way true it's because the surveyers cherry picked the audience.

I can say with a fair amount of confidence that I am on the low end of that average. I only buy stuff when it's on sale, and even then, it's rare.
