I was really excited about this game, but the more details i find out about it the more my hype fades away. And the first impressions of the game are quite worrisome, too.
Star Wars Battlefront: fun, sprawling, and worryingly simple
This is what I managed to find out:
1. The controls are floaty and imprecise and weapons don't have that oomph effect like in BF. The author of the article notices that he didn't want SW Battlefront to be BF with SW's paint coat, but regrets his wish now as certain aspects of the game would be better off if they actually were BF with SW's paint coat lol
2. NO SINGLE PLAYER CAMPAIGN
I know Dice sucks at making SP, but it's f*cking SW, the universe so vast and diverse that you must brain dead to not come up with any good SP plot.
3. NO 64-PLAYER MP. Star Wars Battlefront's max player count tops out at 40
Come on. I mean, what is the reason for such a dicky move ? Consoles ? A Battlefield (well, Battlefront) with no 64-player matches ? What year is it ? 2008 ? Next gen my ass.
Or maybe they are trying to copy Call of Duty again.
4. No space combat
Of course, we can not have it. We never can have it. Because it's STAAAAAR WAAAARS, therefore only planetary combat. F*ck you, Dice, too.
5. ONLY 4 PLANETS.
Because as there is no space combat, they can focus on planets then ? Nop. F*ck you for dreaming.
6. AT-STs Controllable, AT-ATs Not Controllable, No Galactic Conquest
7. And I must add that E3 footage didn't look that good either, visually- and gameplay-wise.
Yep. Hype 0. Make you wallets ready for milking via season pass - obviously they will add content with DLC only for additional 60 bucks. It's Hardline flop all over again but will be worse.
Special thanks to the user druout1944 from PCGamer for summing it all up for me.
