Wii one got the 6
This topic is locked from further discussion.
I like my quality Star Wars games thank you. I was excited for this game, but not after the demo...
Give me another Jedi Knight or KOTOR. Star Wars at it's best.
im still gonna get it because i only listen to gamespot when they give good ratings and because a 7.5 just doesnt seem to add up with the good vs. the badk3nne3e
You sound confused :?
i thought that this wouldn't live up to the hype after playing the demo
but i'll still get this next year sometime when (if!) there's a bit of a gaming drought and the price has come down
despite average gameplay, level design and a typically awkward camera, the story might be worth it .. plus, it's star wars ...
ooo...gamespot are getting predictable. i guessed a 6 in another thread due to it getting a 76 in another mag i read and lo and behold..it got a 6.
as for wiimote swinging getting old....odd remark. if it works then whats the problem? its like saying button pressing and stick waggeling gets old...and weve been doing that for a decade.
still thats another notch against getting this game. looks like the devs messed up.

Trust me, you'll be cursing almost as much as giving praise when you play this game. I honestly thought this game was going to get a 6.5 when I played it. Don't get me wrong, there are more parts where I had fun than not......however the gamespot review is right when they describe frustration from being able to lock on targets with poor camera angles in close quarters.

Amen to that.

Frozen... WOW on your new sig!!:shock::shock:
IGN handed a 7.2 for PS3/360 and didnt bother reviewing a Wii copy. I'm very disapointed in this score. Hope I still have some fun with it.immortality20
I'm not suprised. Keven is clearly a graphicswhore.
The Wii version which has more levels and extras is shorter then the PS3 or 360 version apparently.

If all the levels are short, it wouldn't matter if the Wii version has more of them.
Kevin described the Wii version as five-to-six hours long. The IGN review says the 360/PS3 version is eight to ten hours long. So perhaps the Wii version actually is shorter.
Weren't sheep saying it was going to be better on Wii?
I'll pass on this one, demo didn't impress me.
I haven't played the WIi version, but I have played the demo of the other version and God, it was so dull. It must be one of those "High," skippable, completely mediocre 7.5's.
Both versions suck, move one. Let's move on to better games.
Shame about the waggle in the Wii version, doesn't sound like much else is that wrong except that. Oh well I ordered Jed Knight 2 for Xbox and got a Force Fx Lightsabre for the same price as FU would've cost, much better deal IMO =pbobbetybob
Much else is that wrong???? You have to play the PS3/X360 version and then the Wii version to truely appreciate why the Wii version fails big time. Aside from the controls, it feels like I was playing a dumbed down GameCube game. Maybe it's because they used the PS2 engine, I'm not sure. One thing I know for sure is if this game was playable on a normal controller it still would have scored worse.
The Bad
Swinging your remote and Nunchuk around gets old fast
Aw geez
Thats what we have been trying to tell you, sheep Koba123
Can the sheep help it that Kevin's a bigger guy and probably gets tired quickly??
The Wii version is much shorter and much easier.
And I am not sure where folks get the idea that I am a graphics whore. Granted, Force Unleashed's art design on the 360 and PS3 is amazing, but there is no reason why the art design on the Wii couldn't have been equally superb. I am sure that folks reading the review want to know if the game takes advantage of the Wii hardware. Since the game looks exactly the same on the PS2, and since there are games that look much better on the Wii, the answer is certainly a no.
As it is, the gameplay doesn't lift it up. It is much shorter (I finished the campaign in just over 5 hours), the audio is poorly compressed, and the controls are unresponsive and eventually get tiring. It can be fun, but some of these issues diminish the story, which is one of the game's highlights--and the fun moments don't have nearly the impact of the excellent bits on the other versions.
And svetzenlether, I am already salty enough!

If the Wii version is shorter then does that mean the story, how would I say it, is stripped down? I just don't want it to be like Alone in the Dark Wii, where the story was stripped down a lot, and didn't have some major events that is in the superior versions like the 360/PC versions.

Just a small question, aside from the couple of 1st part Nintendo titles.....which games look "much better" on the Wii than the PS2? As far I've seen most games on the Wii look like GameCube games which is equivalent to PS2 type graphics. I mean God Of War 2 graphics......is there a game that is "much better" in terms of graphics on the Wii?
I will be renting this one.web966Me too if I rent it when my friends over, I can beat the SP and we can play multiplayer for a bit.

Giancar
Yeah just like Madden.
lol this thread will be very but very funny!
*grabs pop corn and waits the few sheep that still exist to damage control*
I actually thought the Wii version would rival the PS3/X360 scores because it has online.......little did I know they stripped the game down (not just graphics). I'm really shocked they couldn't do a straight port of exact level designs. That waggle crap just has to end too.....I give up my dream and hope for a sophisticated lightsaber duleing game. How funny that No More Heroes does a better job with lightsabers than a STARWARS game!
I am not really surprised, I was expecting A or less for the x360/ps3 version. If you remove the star wars universe, you are stuck with a generic hack and slash action game. This game missed the soul that made Jedi knight series or the Kotor series alive and fantastic
Any dev with half a brain would have used the Wii pointer to target and control force powers.
Until I see a first person Motion+ lightsaber game (preferably based on the classic trilogy)..or a Wii force power game that uses the IR pointer...I won't be spending any money on this half hearted trash.
I would have taken a Wii port of Star Wars Trilogy Arcade over this....at least that would have made decent use of the wii pointer.
Wii review basically confirmed it was an after-thought game and a sloppy/semi-effort port.
I'll still be renting it though.
im still gonna get it because i only listen to gamespot when they give good ratings and because a 7.5 just doesnt seem to add up with the good vs. the badk3nne3e
Lul wut? That makes very little logical sense.

It makes perfect sense....you know like all these Dallas fans. They are fair weather fans. It seems there are fair weather fans for gamespot.....they only believe them when they give good reveiws for the games they hype, when it's a negative review of a game they like suddenly gamespot is crap.
What people don't understand is yes there is a lot of good int he game but you have to really play the game to truely understand why the BAD truely makes this game average to below average.
