SW threads: Are they lacking in variety now more than ever before?

Now a days I see mainly three types of threads here:

1) Graphics threads

2) FPS threads

3) Over hyped upcoming game threads

Is anyone else here sick of the unoriginal threads that get recycled day after day here?

It's gotten so bad lately that I spend most of my time on Gamespot in other game or system threads and I'm noticing lots of other SW posters doing the same thing. How do you feel about it?

They are also lacking threads that actually make sence.(not saying yours doesent)People just talk about graphics most of the time though.

I feel the same. I used to get home from school, get a snack, then get on the internet. The first place I check is SW. It used to be more useful than the actual GameSpot site, but not much anymore. I feel as though SW has lost it's spark, and only the most zealous of fanboys remain. I mainly lurk the GeOW 2 and GTA IV boards nowadays.

Well, the consoles were both announced by 2005 and released by 2007, so I guess all the important stuff to debate over has been done to death and all that is left is the scraps which are pretty poor and don't make much logical sense.

Yup, its all the same. MGS4, look at these graphics, the wii sucks because...., xbox better than ps3, ps3 better than xbox. blah, blah, blah its all the same.

Plus the only games of note left until August are NG2 and MGS4, and even then they've already been discussed to death.

So I guess that brings us to a new question: Why do we keep coming back? I think the main incentive for me is watching the reactions of fanboys when a high profile game gets reviewed here. That's always a good time. :P

Its like watching jackass the show. You know someone is going to get hurt in every episode,but you wanna see how bad. So in SW you know fanboys are going to say stupid things,but you wanna know how stupid it can get.

Yes, 90% of threads on sw are the same thing over and over again. You can blame aggressive modding for that. Whenever someone tries to post something original or different, they get modded.
