Which is why so many continue to flock to it. Get over it and stop calling the Wii a FAD when it past that stage two years ago. Believe it or not, HD crisp graphics arent needed to make things fun so stop clowning the Wii for lack of 720/1080pzzz. The Wii is what gaming is. Fun games that allow you to play together with others for a low price that gives you the BEST BC library this gen and many to come. Get over it, the Wii hate in SW is old and has reached the stupid level.

Who's denying the Wii is fun? I'm pretty certain the general consensus around here is that it's LESS fun than the DS and PC, but still fun nonetheless.

360 = fun

PS3 = fun

Wii = fun

PS3 + Wii = double fun

360 + Wii = double fun

PS3 + Wii + PC = triple fun

Why would I want less fun?

Of course, everyone has their opinion, but the majority of the hate that comes in SW about the Wii is just stupid. Like they say, which huge success, theres always a huge hate crowd right behind it.

So go play your trashy Wii system with tons of shovelware, remakes, PS2 ports, half-baked games from this gen (such as Dead Space & Dirt 2), cooking games, dancing games, Wii Fit, etc. Nobody cares.

I'll be on my 360 playing real games on it.

To intercede on the point you're trying to make, there is no arbitrary year marker on what a fad is. Disco was a fad and lasted nearly a decade. By that definition all consoles are fads.

I certainly think the Wii has enough good exclusives to warrent the relativly low price tag. I don't regret getting one at all.

Saying the games are fun is opinionated, and I don't like playing with others while I play video games.

The PC.

fun can be found in anything be it games or rocks around a house. The idea that the Wii is some how anti fun or progress is silly. The idea that its the most fun is equally silly silly. What SW has a hard time swallowing is that that enjoyment is NOT measured in the amount of AAA games you have.

Fun, yes, the party games especially, provide some good get together times with friends, the problem is in some less "casual-friendly" games where waggle drops the overall experiance, same as with the DS, where some very basic commands that could have been button presses, were replaced with often irritating touch gestures, its the worse when you can't push A/B in some games to progress dialog, and you're forced to tap it, luckily with the Wii having Classic Controller and such, less games suffer from that kind of problems.

Edit: But I'm starting to get confused by these topics, as I always play each and every game/console to have fun.. in fact I payed less for my 360+HDD then my Wii, and the 360 has provided me with more fun times. :P

I don't find it hard to believe, I find it impossible to believe. It is pretty much a well known fact that people buy the Wii to suffer and punish themselves. That's why it is so popular, it's like religion.

If I had to do it all over again, I would have waited till the Wii hit $99 to buy mine. Then again, with the way the casual gamers are snapping this thing up, it would be a useless piece of plastic by the time Nintendo needed to drop it that low. And so, I would have passed on it altogether (which is fine by me)

It is a fun system. I love the fact that there is Backwards Compatibility for Gamecube games (which is great because I still buy Gamecube games at times and I loved the Gamecube last gen) and has Virtual Console.

you mean for the same price, minus the $100/200 harddrive needed to have fun in most games and the online and game you have to buy separately for 60 instead of getting it with the system. Wait that doesn't sound fun :|

I've spent some time with it at a friends house, and there's nothing to draw me back in. Now, I know it doesn't apply to everyone, but it does to a lot of people. It started at first with motion controls, but now, it's expanded to its game library. People don't hate the Wii for its success, they don't like it because they don't like the game library, or the controls. And BC is indeed the best, but the GC's library was hardly anything to brag about. Virtual console offers a good selection of games, but Sony's got PS1 titles for download too. And if you like playing online with your friends, the 360 has the best console online experience this generation.

The resolution argument is going to become more relevant. How many CRTs do you see in stores? All TVs have a lifespan, and they'll eventually get phased out of the consumer pool. Same with the price. Say you don't want to spend 300 bucks. You can still (probably) find an Arcade 360 for 200. You'll get an arguably superior library of games, some really fresh ideas with the upcoming Natal (if that's your cup of tea... Not for me), and should you choose to pay for XBL, a solid online experience. Same with the PS3, just without the cost of online play and a slightly different library.

The Wii's main multiplayer games are basically Brawl, Mario Kart, and Wii Sports/Sports Resort anyway. Not enough people have Conduit. Nintendo's Friend Code system certainly doesn't help the online.

It's great that you like the Wii and you're happy with it. You're not going to change any opinions on it in here though. I had fun with my Wii in short play sessions, but the games had no long lasting appeal for me, so I ended up selling it. I love my PS3, 360, and PC, and have no desire to go back to the Wii for any reason. Also, mentioning price in relation to the Wii is a bit of a joke. Comparing the prices of the other 2 consoles after the recent price drops, the price of the Wii hardware is a complete joke in terms of quality and an overall entertainment package.

Hold on there chief, the GC library was awesome.

It was okay at best in comparison. A few titles stood out, but it had nothing on PS2's ridiculous library. I mean, yeah. Smash Melee was great, Wind Waker is still my favorite Zelda game to date, Metroid Prime 1 and 2 were great transitions into the 3D world for Metroid, RE4 refreshed RE, Eternal Darkness was ridiculously awesome, and it had TP as its swan song.

Those titles are some of my favorite games ever. But you really can't deny the strides that Microsoft made with the Xbox in terms of its library. JSRF, Psychonauts, Forza, GTA, and the juggernaut known as Halo.

I wish Nintendo would go back to the way it was back in the SNES days. Lots of support, absolutely great games.
