Swapping Disks Makes Me Feel Like I'm Back In 1998

so there I am, on the second disc of mass effect 2 ready to start the suicide mission and take the final fight to the collectors when the dreaded text appears on the screen 'please insert disc 1' WTF, why do they want me to insert disc 1 again? Instantly took me out of the experience but whatever, no biggie. I look for my mass effect 2 game case and I cant find it. I'm going nuts until I realize I gave it to my brother so he could start his game on disc 1 not knowing I needed to freakin' insert disc 1 again at some point in the game. The problem is my bro lives like 3 miles away from me , so now I really want to finish ME2 but I have to wait until he gets home. It's just a huge buzzkill to have to constantly swap discs, and in a game like ME2 where the devs are trying to draw the player into this fantasic 3D world, it instantly takes you out of the experience and reminds you its still a videogame. I mean its 2010 and I feel like Im in 1998 again

I never lend out my games when I'm still playing them.Especially when it has more than one disc.

I don't mind changing discs.I'm more disappointed with the fact that people complain about changing a disc.

HDD Install FTW...every multidisc game I am currently playing (ME2, FM3) are installed on my HDD, no worries that way.

Blu-rays are the future I tell thee!;)

i like not having to touch my disc more the 5 times when putting it in my ps3. 8)

That's one of the few instances where disc swapping is inconvenient, other than that situation, I can't think of another reason to complain because all you have to do is put in another disc.kittyloaf69

i dont think its a really big deal but if i had the choice i would want everything on one disk for convience

but i will agree with u that its 2010 disk swapping is kinda old

It could be considered a plus than, for the fact that you can lend out disc one well you are on disc 2. Just make sure you won't need that disc beforeyou lend it out.

Although I guess you don't know when you need the disc at one time.

Still don't think it is a big deal though.

Forza 3 isn't even really a multi-disc game, since you don't ever actually play the game using disc 2.

The annoyance in changing a disc is the equivalent to tying your shoe laces.

Sure not doing it is preferred, but to complain about it on an internet forum is quite pathetic. Some of us have real problems in life to worry about.

It doesn't bother me whatsoever.

1998 had to be the best year of gaming.

I only hate it when a game makes you use a disc even after you do a full install.

Ive bought probley 150 Mp3s the rest are ripped off CDs

Also about 200 12"s (vinyl)

I am a Dj so have some good music.

Swapping disks in a generation of Teh Cell and 4D, seems a bit archaic don't you guys think....

i'd prefer to have it on disc aslong as im not paying full price CD for a couple of tracks.

MP3s are cool but a full game which costs £20-£40 i would take on disc everytime.

Swapping disks is old news. Yeah I'm lazy, so what!? I earned my right be lazy when I bought a system capable of playing Blu Rays.

Nah Ill never accept DD on Full Games. Its a cop out same with movies I will never pay for a D/L movie I want it on a disc so I can sell it if i want and i actually get a real thingfor my money.

I didn't even know the 360 version had two discs...

It's a shame what happened, but I've never minded disc swapping. Infact, I quite like when a game has multiple discs, though I have had a few die on me, meaning I've had to rebuy certain games because of a screwed up disc.

Have you played MGS4, GTAIV, or BioShock2? (Etc etc)?

With just one of those games you've lost more time by mandatory installs than most 360 users will ever by disc swapping.

it's definitely nostalgic but it's never really an issue

it actually feels more like intermissions and helps break up what is otherwise say a 60 hour rpg into 15 hour sections, makes you feel more like you're progressing through the story
