Most PS4/PS 5, One/XSX exclusives releasing multiplatform specially on PC. But Nintendo Switch games remains exclusive for its fanbase. And recently many great games as Persona's, Nier's are also being ported to Switch. Seems great year for Switch and PC gamers.

Switch and PC winning system wars?

Discuss ladies and gentlemen :)

Just PC. PC already won system wars, every other platform is fighting over 2nd place.

The Switch is never winning anything. Its a secondary system for a reason.

As much as I love my Switch, I haven't bought anything for it for a few years now. Most of my playtime goes in Mario Maker 2, Smash, and MK8.

PC is the best, it just sucks that exclusives have to exist still. Thankfully many eventually come to PC.

Assuming you are just doing PC/Switch combo at your disposal, then you as a gamer is on the winning team. Still, it's just gaming PC wins everything else. The Switch is just a bonus to have around.

Yeah, that combo is working well for me. Steam deck has stolen some of Switch's thunder, but they need to make a smaller version with better battery life before it can truely be the handheld king.

That's my combo and i'm happy out.

I was going to get a PS5 as i never got a PS4 and thought, between new PS5 games and the PS4 backlog, i would have a very solid collection of games to play on it. but now i'm not really interested since sony seem to be bringing everything to the PC anyway.

I have no reason to get an Xbox Series console.

The only downside is not everything comes day 1 to the PC...though given the poor state many games release in, that does have a silver lining. It's not like i have a shortage of games to play on either platform in the meantime.

  • Monster hunter Rise Sunbreak today (PC).
  • Xenoblade next month (Switch).
  • FF7 Remake (PC)
  • Stray Next Month too (PC)
  • Warhammer 3 Total War which i haven't even started (PC)
  • New Mario + Rabbids (Switch).

That's just off the top of my head this year. I'm sure if i looked at a list i could pick more that i would like to play.

That's not a good combo. PC has as many issues as you can find in the support forums for every game that comes out. Switch is just underpowered, late releases and more expensive.

As usual if you want the most options get them all. If you want the biggest variety of games, convenience, VR, and value, then I'd recommend PS5 and Steam Deck if you're only going to get two things.

Ehhh the days of widespread issues with PC games is mostly gone. Games that have major issues on PC these days tend to just be really unfinished releases that have problems on all platforms like BF2042, or even cases like Cyberpunk 2077, where the PC version worked better than consoles at release.

I honestly can't remember the last time I had significant problems with a game on PC that was smooth sailing on consoles... maybe Arkham Knight?

As long as you have a reasonably up to date and maintained PC that matches/exceeds modern console specs you should be fine and will get an experience equal to or superior to console gaming

Switch is shit. You can play Switch games on PC through emulators if you want and they will look and run better.

Lucky for you! I've still had issues, and apparently so have others. Just pick a game and look in its support forum.

yea literally every game there will be people with bad/misconfigured PCs who run into problems and complain about it on forums. Or they get unlucky with some very specific config certain games have issues with. but its almost always a very small minority

You haven't bought a single game for the Switch in years? DAAAAAAAAAMN. I could never have "love X system" and "haven't bought anything for it in years" in the same sentence.

PC easily wins System Wars, and it's sadly one of the reason this forum has gotten boring. Was a lot more fun when things were actually competitive. PC gets all of the typical multipalts every system gets, it gets every MS exclusive, it gets the best Sony exclusives (after a few years), and it basically has a few exclusive genres to itself. And the best versions of nearly all of that. Combining for massive library wins last gen and likely this gen.

But it doesn't stop there. It also has the best online making up 99% of esports or over 80% of normal user competitive gaming. Finally it has by far the best Performance (fps and latency), Graphics (except for first year or two of every gen), and tons of other features can't even list them all (Emulation, Supports more resolutions and displays, DLSS, Mods, multi-tasking, etc).

Here at GS last gen it had around over 100 more 8s-10s than the next best system. It won last gen wildly, It's pretty high on the lead for this gen too.

@hardwenzen: Yep. But I still enjoy the games mentioned. Think the last one I got for it was Animal Crossing which I put 250 hours into. Put 190 into SMM2, 140 into Smash, 240 in Mario Kart 8.

So while Nintendo has a lack in games, in my opinion, the ones they do have I can put a lot of time into. But that can be said for any system honestly.

I would just love a new F-Zero but they aren't going to do it.

There are no system wars. Can't remember the last time I heard normie gamers arguing about consoles. They're all pretty segmented or don't care.

PC of course. The best would be Xbox + PC + Switch. But if you just had one, PC would be it.

People forget, but Microsoft windows pc and xbox is pretty much the same thing. If pc is winning, xbox is winning and vice versa. Lems are always winning.

Besides, xbox is pretty much a more affordable PC. Why spend $3k on a gpu, when you can just get an xbox for $500. Why deal with all the bugs, the hackers, cheaters, sitting in a shitty chair, etc etc.

Does the Switch even have working online? LOL

I only play offline Nintendo games. Even then, there are few games that peak my interest. A game like Splatoon online does nothing for me. I would rather play Battlefield.

@BassMan: there's a few games that have a solid online service. Smash bros, Mario kart, animal crossing, Mario tennis. The new tnmt game has a great online co op mode. Nintendo is going hard into online nowadays.

Xbox Series X and PC combo with Game Pass Ultimate has been awesome for me.. Along with Game Streaming on mobile, I have access to continue my Xbox gaming across all my devices..

With PlayStation, I'm playing their increasing slate of PC titles on Steam and I may eventually look into an emulator for Nintendo titles on PC..

Ultimately, PC has everything.. At this point, it just depends on what companion device you want alongside it, whether that be an Xbox Series X|S, PS5, Steam Deck, or Switch..

@fedor: not cope at all. I just see my Microsoft xbox as version of Microsoft windows pc. I'd like to build a better gaming PC, but no way in hell am I doing that until I see a massive price drop. I'm waiting for a 7800 gpu for $400, and a core i7 12900k for $300.

My Predator 1440p/165hz monitor also has HDR and to be frank, I have no freaking idea what the hell I'm doing whenever I experiment using HDR. Everything looks too grey and I said to myself forget it! I got my monitor because I wanted more FPS and that's why I got 165hz for it, my monitor just happens to have HDR.

PC has gotten better, but I'm not going to dismiss the issues that continue like you do despite saying otherwise elsewhere.

I'll take the convenience of console and have everything be as appliance-like as possible thanks.

That's an issue with his monitor, not with the PC platform. He has a monitor that isn't capable of actual HDR, therefore it looks like shit. Your attempt at owning has been denied.

We will see. I don't hold Nintendo in high regard these days. Their hardware and services suck. They also don't make many core games that I am interested in. A lot of stuff for casuals and milking the same shit over and over again.

@davillain: To be fair though, compatibility issues are super annoying and very prevalent on PC because it has games going back several decades. Whereas with these new consoles, you just pick up your ps5 or switch or xbox and start up the game and you are good.

I love my PC and it doesn't have the best graphics card (still rockin a 1080 GTX and going strong) but I will run into issues that if I didn't have the patience to tweak things in the .ini files or this and that, I would've just given up on playing older games. It is one of the issues with PC games is that you may have to put up with these issues whereas consoles don't really have this problem where a game won't start and it will just crap out all the time. Sometimes on my ps4 that happened, but it was super rare.

@davillain said the display supports HDR in that case as well, so doesn't sound like an issue with the monitor. Maybe dav can clarify.

I don't care about anecdotal evidence. It can "support" HDR all it wants, his monitor doesn't have local dimming and doesn't have the needed peak brightness to display HDR properly. In fact, none of the Acer Predator line of 2560 x 1440p monitors do. These are verifiable facts, not anecdotes. His monitor is to blame, not the PC platform.

Just PC for me ATM. I have been using the Switch more, due to sporadic hospital visits, but my PS5 has been unused since I finished Demon's Souls a couple months ago.

Well unless you skipped a PS4 and/or Xbox One, there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON to get a PS5 or XSX.

@fedor: I guess let @davillain speak to that. I'm not going to just assume outright without hearing about it.

If PC has hardware that lies about their capabilities then that's a PC issue too.

People use monitors with consoles as well, just like people use TV's with their PC's.. The TV space also has the same issues with HDR marketing so not sure how it's a "PC issue". Once again, unverifiable anecdotal evidence is worthless so I'm not sure why you keep pushing it.
