1) hes correct. He might be exaggerating a bit, but many of the things hes talking about are very much true.

2) Recently I tried running subnautica below zero on my radeon 580 4gb gpu. The game would stutter like crazy, and this was on gamepass for PC. It would only resolve when I set it to 1080p lowest settings. Funny how the series S can run this game flawlessly. Forget the series S, even last gen consoles can run it.

3) I guess you must have been hiding under a literal ROCK for the past 2 or 3 years with the crypto nonsense business and covid. There were many many people, alot of them even on this board. You know who you are. That spent $3k on securing a geforce 3080. Sad business, but thats the reality.

4) Im pretty dumb, i'll admit it, but Mr. wannabe freud has consistently been owned by me and others on this board, on a daily basis.

I fixed it for you pedro. After 2 years of covid and $3000 gpus, PC gaming has never been more irrelevant than any time in history. The mass flood of people to consoles hasn't stopped since. Even after the gpu supply and crypto settled down, these prices are STILL too expensive.

I remember the days, that a flagship nvidia gpu was $500 for the geforce 580, or $600 for the geforce 680, yet last year it went all the way to $3000 and yet too many sheep still flooded the market. Do you really think nvidia will back down from over priced gpus after getting a taste of $3000? You PC fanboys are deluded. Nvidia will start to test $5000 for the 4090.

Man, I wonder what this $3000 GPU is. I bought my 3080 Ti for 1200 USD, and that's a high-end one that even the Series X cannot touch.

i dont think theres any clear winners at this stage. i couldnt be less interested in the switch, i gave mine away to my nephews a few years ago, so to me its in last place.

everything else at the minute for me revolves around future potential, what's been promised down the line, less so what's available now. and in that sense the future's looking optimistic for xbox. maybe less so for sony. i'm a bit underwhelmed with my ps5. baffles me why they bother to include a resolution graphics mode on games when the framerate's so poor. may as well come with a warning saying "ps5 pro required to unlock this mode."

i think, broadly speaking, if pc gets all ms studios games day one it'll put real daylight between it and the others. if it gets sony games day one it's good night vienna

Remakes and shovelware, or shovelware and ports. No and no in no particular order.

That said, I do like both both Switch shouldn't even be in the conversation. Great console, but nothing but remasters and games that I have no idea even get on the store.

@blaznwiipspman1: Name these users that paid $3000 for a RTX 3000 series GPU. Everyone on this board that I've seen got one said they got one at MSRP. You must be living under a rock yourself because these past couple of months GPU prices have been steadily declining you can get an RTX 3080 brand new under $800 right now. You also forgot that since mining has crashed miners are trying to sell their GPUs. I just went on ebay and I see several used RTX 3080, 3070 and 3060 Ti being sold around or below MSRP when not too long ago earlier this month people were trying to sell them for $2000 minimum.

It's funny every time there is a GPU shortage because of mining console fanboys come out of the woodwork claiming PC gaming is dead because they just so happen to be wanting to build a gaming PC but their $4000 argument is now true so they can use that to justify why they don't play on PC but are nowhere to be seen once GPU prices are back to normal and PC gaming continues to bigger than ever.

Even during this crisis Steam showed that many gamers were simply just getting gaming laptops and prebuilt desktops to get around the inflated GPU prices and those were selling out like hotcakes too.

Nintendo Switch leaves a lot to be desired from a handheld system.

Honestly, the ONLY reason pc gaming even matters still is because it's open source nature, and once in a while you want to try something like hooking up occulus. If MS ever made xbox more compatible with other platforms, then PC gaming would be completely useless.

Oh yeah, I used to be a pretty big PC gamer back in rhe day. Back when I could grab a top of the line gpu for $300. Now that nvidia had a taste of selling their gpus for $3k, and they scored tens of billions of dollars in profit with a valuation if 600 billion LOL. Talk about scamming so hard, they somehow managed to hit top of Forbes list by selling video cards. Do you really think they will bring back reasonably cheap cards? Nope, these video card prices will remain at $1k MSRP from now on, and thats for the 4070. The 4080 will MSRP for $1500. Now that nvidia knows they can get away with it.

In any case, moving on. PC is good and I love it, but I'd still buy consoles just to play exclusives, but that's seems to be in the past now. MS & now Sony are porting their games to PC just made my gaming life so much easier, going just gaming PC is all you'll ever need. Nintendo is a hit or a miss so take that for what you will.

I'm in a good enough current circumstance, that I could buy the flagship gpu, even at $3000, if I wanted to. But I don't, cuz I'm not a moron, and I don't want to get shafted either.

I'm not wrong about the figures at all. Nvidia probably won't over price the next gen cards, with crypto being in the gutter. But they already got a taste of it. The gpu gold rush that nvidia made bank off of, there's no way they will forget it so easily. I expect an msrp of $1100 for the 4080.

Have a PS4 but it's more of a backup.

Id probably give my 2nd favorite console to series X over switch tho, TC is right about exclusives coming to PC. But that's not a bad thing, especially with play anywhere, it's nice being able to carry my progress between PC / xbox. Plus SX has BC games with og Xbox and 360.

The Switch isnt winning as much as it is stiII staying reIevent. Since the Switch has a niche that the superior PC gaming cannot currentIy cover.

why would I brag about it? Its just the reality, the last 2 years were a complete and utter disaster for pc gaming. It was FANTASTIC for the gpu manufacturers and tech industry in general, but for the pc gaming community, it was a complete and utter disaster. The number of pc gamers who made a massive switch to xbox and consoles, was unprecedented. Most of those gpu sales were because of the crypto miners, who bought up 5, 6, 10, even 20gpus to mine some dumb fake digital currency.

They finally "resolved", yeah right, the geforce 3080 is still selling for $800 on newegg, which is about $30 above the retail msrp. Thats the CHEAPEST 3080 I could find, after I sorted through with the filters on newegg.

You will eat those words LOL. Just wait, theres no way in hell nvidia will keep their new geforce 4080 for $769.99 MSRP after seeing the hot mess that was the 3080 launch. They know people will buy, the sheep will buy even if its $3k. Why would they sell for $769.99??

Owned at SW? I don't recall this. Hell, I even "left" SW because me and PC literally won last gen. This place got so boring due to winning so hard here. There was almost no PC challenge threads, because it's win was definitive. Had over 100 high scoring games than the second next system (GS and MC) and was GFX king.

Your gpu is $700 on sale, that's just the gpu, and you need to shell out an extra $300 for a solid megawatt psu that can handle these flagship cards because of transient power spikes. The rest of your components will cost another $500. So $1500. Don't forget windows so add another $100. So $1600.

All that, and you still can't play switch games, you ask for console port sloppy seconds, 2 years after the games release. On top of that, dealing with bsod, game crashes, sitting in an office chair, dealing with hackers.

All those amazing pc games are now coming to console because of gamepass and switch.

A majority of multiplats release in the same month and are FAR better on PC (DF). It gets every MS Exclusive, and the best version. It gets a lot of PS games. It has a few exclusives genres. Add this up. The result in over 100 high scoring titles than the next best system last gen. This gen too possibly. Massive wins.

I will love my 4080/4090 and 2-3x the FPS, way more games, mods, more controllers, more usable displays, and the best online! Woohoo!

I haven't had a bsod or crash in years. In fact my consoles have crashed more recently. They are also unfixable, at least I can fix my own PC issues. My chair is $800 and more comfy than a couch. You do have to deal with hackers, but on the flip side PC makes up nearly all competitive scenes and esports.

You can reduce chances of hackers by going consoles (consoles still have them), but you're also reducing your competitive play option by 90%. Heh.

The opposite is true as well. PC wins overall.
