And we know from multiple indie developer tweets that indies are selling particularly well on Switch too.

Clearly Nintendo's anti-youtuber policies have hurt them and destroyed their business. Not the other way around. I mean it's not like switch channels and videos have huge views. It's not like they need Nintendo more than Nintendo needs them. That never happened.

I read of sources that state that some of the indie titles released on the Switch sold more copies than copies sold on Steam or all of Switch's competitors combined.

That's actually pretty insane.

Well the switch was 100 bucks cheaper than the ps4 within the 1st 10 months.

Not really. Again it's all a matter of perspective. One thing that the ps4 had that the switch didn't was multiplats, and on the console side of things, the ps4 had the superior version in most (if not all) cases.

Tbh as soon as they drop that Switch Pokemon title I'm sold.

For AAA exclusives yes it was as it pretty much road on multi plats.

But you have to think BoTW was nothing more then a Wii U port.

That would of been the equivalent of Sony holding back the release of TLOU and having it as a PS4 launch title along side the PS3 release.

@scatteh316: To be fair i would rather Sony had held TLoU back until the PS4’s launch and launched on both. Would of meant many wouldn’t of had to double dip to play it again with a decent framerate. Not to take anything away from TLoU as its a fantastic game.

Incorrect. The official tweet says fastest selling system, not console. It's over half a million ahead of 3DS launch-aligned, and December is the only month the entire year that it didn't sell as much as 3DS 2011 ("only" 1.4 million compared to 1.6 million for 3DS).

The fact that you're even comparing Switch to the best selling console of all time says a lot. Also, at least you admit that PS4 can't beat PS2.

And it's the same price as what PS2 launched at (before counting inflation), $50-130 more expensive than 3DS, twice as much as DS, and $50 more than Wii and PSP (before inflation, and yes PSP had a good first year). On top of that, PS4 was perceived as a good value at launch; Switch, however, is constantly called overpriced by gamers who claim that it should be $100-150 cheaper.

Just because PS2 sold amazing doesn't mean no console can ever sell like that again. In fact, Nintendo have a history of high selling consoles like the NES, SNES, and even the Wii. I would actually love to see the cow meltdowns here if Switch outsold PS2 lifetime sales at some point.
