Switching disks. Usually that disk is going to stay in my Xbox for several weeks or months before I change it out. I don't really know anyone that constantly changes out disks on a daily basis to play different games. I don't until I feel I'm about finished with it.
They're using it because they need to, not because they want to.If you've been gaming before 2005, switching disc isn't a problem. Mandatory installs? Keep em coming, but my only gripe is:
If you are gonna force an install - take advantage of it. I see minimal differences between a 360 version after install.

Which is more convenient to you? With Cows making fun of Lems have to switch disks and with Lems making fun of Cows installing games, which method is easier?jtdawg23
While I prefer NOT having to swap discs, I strongly believe that installing games on PS3 is because developers aren't bothering to use the hardware properly and use instals as a crutch.
So really, which is worse? The inconvenience of swapping discs, or the fact that developers can't be bothered to use the hardware properly and therefore we may never see the true potential.
potato-potato .. tomato-tomato (yeah, i know this is practically useless on a forum)
basically my point is that they're the same really .. installs take time, but at least when they're done, they're done (except MGS4)
but then again, how often do you switch disks? very rarely, and it's not too hard to get up to do
plus, multiple disk games are rarer than games requiring installs, at the moment anyway
Switching discs brings no benefit at all.SambaLele
Well, switching disks isn't about having a benefit, besides allowing you to continue your game.
The installs have had minor benefits. The fact that many of the earlier games have almost no installs at all and minimal load times kind of proves that installs are even needed. "Why are they mandatory?" is the big question. Installs seem more of a waste of time then anything. Installs take 10-25mins, why swapping a disk take about 5 secs.

It is because Blu-ray read speeds are too slow. This is not the Dev's fault.
I'll happily take installing games, with one exception - MGS 4's way of handling it was terrible. Just let me install the whole damn thing; I don't want to sit around between acts.lowe0
Why woudl i want to waste harddrive space for installing games? Swapping discs isn't hard and you only do it once every...10 horus of gaming. lol. Kratos_OMEGA
Your discs get scratched plus who wants to hear that louds ass disc drive on the Xbox 360 while playing the game anyway?
