Switching from 360 to PS3

I am a frustrated 360 owner. I have been through 3 systems in a year and I am thinking about switching over to a PS3. Any thoughts on if Sony will expand their game title selection? The current blockbuster selection like Gears of War and Mass Effect is pretty slim compared to the Xbox 360. Has anyone else switched over and what did you think?

So Xbox live has been down for 2 days so I could not recover my gamertag and now Xbox wants to charge me $100.00 to send it back and wait 2 weeks to get it fixed. uugghhh...Does the PS3 have these problems???xGAMExTIMEx

I'm pretty active in the PS3 forums and honestly it's very very rare to see a post with a defective system, 90% of the time it's not even a problem with the PS3 it's "user error." It's amazing how many people don't read instructions :) Second I've never seen anyone charged to have it fixed. $100 that's just crazy. That's over a 1/3 of the price of the base system. Ouch.

PS3 has a number of quality titles which are out now plus next year is set to be an AWESOME year for PS3 with the launch of it's most anticipated games.

Sell your 360 and buy a PS3 for Christmas, heres a list of quality games you can choose from.

Listen fake account Cow , if you lie get your fact straight before you do , you don't have to pay anything to fix the 360 because you are still in warranty like every other 360 .

In some places in europe you still have to pay which is also why 360 is pretty much dying here

microsoft themselves have given a 3 year warranty to all xbox 360s across the globe so why would they then charge?

Im some areas you have to pay to send them off to another country such as germany, i heard it's the same in south america in the likes of brazil, ps3 i think is the same when it comes to this

Do not do it, i got a PS3 and is pretty useless for now, i finished Draek in 8 hours, and that was all for the whole of 2007 and probably 2008, unless they come up with some RPG' soon

Just make sure you always have a 360, that is my opinion, then buy a PS3 if you can spare it

Thanks for the posts...The Microsoft Agent told me on the phone that the system is out of warranty? I had my last system sent in in June so I should still be covered. I am not a fake COW what ever that is. I am having real issues with my system and it is frustrating. I guess I will call support back and ask them about the three year warranty.

I own both systems. Problem solved.

Why anyone would ell their XBox 360 for the PS3 is beyong me. There are just way to many great titles on the XBox 360 to get rid of this system. I had one system start to die on me as well. I swapped it out for another and it's been good ever since. Everyone has their own flavor of games. If you'll not happy with the 360 games, then get a PS3. The games seem pretty much the same to me. Only the Wii has really unique games that differ from PS3 and XBox 360.

Throw away that crap system. Get a PS3. It wont EVER break, extremely reliable.

in what european country do you have to pay? anyways its not like ps3s are popular here or atleast in germany but consoles are not as popular in general here.

I'm thinking about ditching 360, but I wouldn't go to PS3. I'd just take up a new hobby. With this new update people with "child accounts" can't download videos or content for M rated games, and even though I'm 17 and can legally buy those M rated games I'm unable to download videos and whatnot.

Imagine if I had a Silver account. There would be no point in having LIVE because the new update doesn't allow me to download any of the videos I want.

I had a 360 from september 06-feb. 07, then switched to PS3. Now I have an Elite and a PS3. Simple solution, don't get rid of your 360, just buy a PS3 to go along side it.ragek1ll589

If you're asking if the Ps3 has a lot of games worth play, it does.

If you're asking if more good games will be released for the PS3, there will be.

I dont know what to do either. I just got a work bonus in form of a nice Best buy gift card. Now I can get either a 360 or a PS3. This is tough. I already own a wii and I've just been sitting and waiting for the right time. Now, first of all I am on the fence about MS and sony. I like the game selection with the 360, but I hate the fact that it doesnt have built in wifi and the hardware defects (RROD). XB live is sweet, but PSN is free. I wont moan about $50 a year, but free is still better even if Live is proven. I like the achievment system on 360 but I could live with out it. My friend has a 360 and he already sent it out twice in a five month span. Having a three year warranty is nice, but not having to use it is better. The only thing that bugs me about getting a PS3 is the game selection. I'm kind of worried that sales might not pick up and developers start dropping out. Also the multiplat issue with worse frame rates...etc. I just don't know. The game I really want to get is RE5, but with the gift card I want to act soon. Darthmatt

I don't need to play them, I can see the crap reviews they get. DOA is a higher rated game then VF 5 anyways, but what does it matter, 360 has both with online. Multiplat, Can you play those on Ps3? Didn't think so! And where are the AAA's again in that list, but his is better, sure dude.
