@lundy86_4: what is your avatar from?
FFXIV. Waiting on that damn Heavensward expansion!
This topic is locked from further discussion.
Ordered the regular FF Type-0 edition online, received the Frame/Limited edition.
Don't mind if I do then :P
So you haven't played the FFXV demo yet? Let me know what you think!
I finished the demo, but I've only played about two hours of Type-0. I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying the PSP-port. Really wanting to play it today but work is getting in the way. >_<
Never was much of a fan of e-sports, but I've found I enjoy watching CSGO. Luckily it's been gaining in popularity
(unfortunately, America kind of sucks at CSGO)
CSGO is probably the only team based esport game I enjoy watching.
It's amazing how big CS: GO has blown up and even moreso with how I'm hearing about people trying it for the first time. CS has been around for 15 years and has spanned a whole generation gap. All it took was an infrastructure change along with some tools/avenues for streaming to nudge it past 1.6's and Source's traditionally insular communities.
But man is there alot of drama with cheating going on at the top level that Valve need to sort out.

well Valve did step in on the match-fixing scandals, banning a number of high level players from events.
@Zassimick: So just finished ~2 hours of play between Type-0 and FF15.
Type-0: I fee like I'm going to enjoy this one. The take on war seems very brutal for FF which is something I like. The gameplay itself (so far) seems simple and fun. Looks really nice for a PSP upgrade (though it's very jarring when you encounter object/character models which were barely touched upon). I dislike the camera (no sure if I can change that or not) because it moves way, way too fast and it makes me feel disoriented very quickly. Other than that the first impressions are pretty good honestly. Wasn't expecting much out of it.
FF15: Played an hour or so, mostly hunting the local wildlife and trying out the combat system. Looks pretty great (could use some AA though) and for the most part the FPS seem to hold really, really well. On some rare cases (so far) they drop like crazy in random spots (a narrow passage between some rocks and around the huge lake too). Combat is pretty cool! Fast and furious, but it's clear that later on the game it'll become very tactical. Some tech issues aside (characters being in the way, parrying not being extremely clear, lack of AA) I'd say this is great indicator of what we'll get with the full game.
@lundy86_4:
Oh yeah man, it's a steal for the money, I couldn't be more pleased with it. I'm not doing any 4k gaming so I'll be good for a while.
I actually picked up two of them at first, but the one was doing me so well I just sold the other to a friend.
a friend bought FF Type 0, played an hour, said the story confused him and the combat sucked ass. Naturally, he sent it to me. Now I'm excited. =P
@Allicrombie: The intro is a bit messy, but I liked it :)

Got a mail from Ninty saying that I can trade my stars for digital games. Cool beans, right? Well.............the bloody website doesn't work! :D Way to go Nintendo!
I need to pick up Skyrim on PC for the mods alone. I'll do it, once my damn 970 is shipped by Newegg... Still packaging :(
You tried any other mods @LegatoSkyheart?
So far just the Real Vision ENB and the recommended mods for it. I plan on getting everything I had before back but for now I just want to see how beautiful the game looks now.

*sigh* back when this website had unions....good times.
Indeed...
Haha, it's like 75% of SW owns a 970 now.
The damn thing is pretty beastly for the price. I picked up the mATX version... One of the things that drew me to the card.
Just finished building my comp (yes yes it had a 970) and installing everything this evening. Had time to pop into a few games but so tired lol
Up for work in 7 hrs will have to wait til tomorrow
I think I hate the Hitman series.

It's like everyone in SW is building a new comp :P

well I wanna try star citizen and elite dangerous :P
I think trolling Souls fanboys is more fun than trolling cows. lol
Im wondering if I should get Pillars of Eternity. $45 is a bit pricey
I like Souls games (I like the World, Atmosphere and Moment to moment feel of the game the most), but man do they get upset at me when I say Souls games arent that hard.
I dunno what it is with some of them, but I feel like they get hostile about that in particular as they feel their expertise/mastery in a Souls game provides them some sort of legitimacy at being good/better than everyone else at videogames.
Do want Bloodborne though, it looks more up my alley with how agile combat feels. But I need a Bloodbourne machine.

That kid was hilarious. I remember that run in he had with musicalmac.
Enjoyed trolling him when it came to RPGs (which he was very hyperbole about).
Good times.

Yeah the fanbase can be excessive. I remember looking up help for Demon Souls and some guy got so angry about someone asking for help and went on about how they're a "noob" and needed to dedicate their life to Demon Souls.
Woo! Just reached Disc 4 in Final Fantasy IX. Let's finish this bad boy up this week!
My life right now. I'm playing:
Look at me and my RPGs. @finalstar2007 ain't got nothing on me! Hooplah! Hooplah! Hooplah!
Finished the FF15 demo. Pretty cool (the summon is even more OP live lol) but clearly needs some polish and refinement. **** that camera for fights with multiple enemies in tight spaces >.>. It's also pretty annoying that your party gets in front of you (constantly) and you get stuck on them (they act like walls basically). Either their AI needs some improvement or we need to be able to "pass through them". Animations are nice but lack a bit of fluidity between them (it always feels like 2/3/X separate animations with a micro-pause in between them rather a continuous natural motion) but are sometimes a bit too much too (though that may be intentional, especially in combat).
Combat itself is pretty fast and fun and the group does behave like a bunch of bros, which should be a nice change! :) The open world was pretty fun though some enemies spawned way too often in some areas. Loved the little cabin/shop are on the map, hope most areas in the final game will have similar resting places. Camping is cool and can be used strategically which is nice.
I also liked the idea of only leveling up when one camps (whenever that may be).
Also, holy hell! Cidney might as well be bloody naked! She has like...20% of her body covered by clothes, the rest is all skin xD They even made her thong slip out of her shorts! lol Talk about "attention to detail" :P
@funsohng: The demo had 2 regular custcenes at the start and end plus a few in-game ones (all very short) mostly introducing stuff. The regular ones I'm sure will still be there since they seemed part of the actual story, the in-game ones may disappear since that area may not be the tutorial (which the demo more or less is) in the final game.
But yeah, it's FF. Expect cutscenes and a few long ones at that. Part of the deal with the franchise :P

I'd say they are on equal footing with the Nintendo brats or anything like that. They don't know how to accept a criticism or a displeasure with something.
And let's not front Lulu isn't trolling, he's shit posting about him sucking at a game. There is no troll there, it's 100% genuine lol
Everyone's playing Bloodborne and here I am starting on my Final Fantasy gauntlet run.
Final Fantasy I is still good but definitely aged. It has its own charm in a way. Running with two Warriors, a White Mage and a Black Mage. White Mage just spams heal + protect on my team, black mage spams haste and temper on the two warriors and since temper can stack multiple times (increases attack power significantly) each of my warriors are hitting at double speed for about 600% their base damage in boss fights. Making the game a breeze on purpose since I've already played it before.
Goal is to play through all the main entries before XV drops. Skipping X since I just played it last year and also no reason to play XI when I can just play XIV instead. Gonna replay the Tactics remake on the PSP as well because, **** yeah, Tactics is awesome.
Also a nod to some awesome FFI music that still holds up, Chaos Temple and Underwater Temple,
a friend bought FF Type 0, played an hour, said the story confused him and the combat sucked ass. Naturally, he sent it to me. Now I'm excited. =P
It's a pretty good game, guess your friend just has bad tastes :P
