The 360 is a "shooter console" -no. looking at its current AAA/AA exclusive list (pdz, forza 2, graw, dead rising, pgr3, doa4, saint's row, kameo), only two out of eight are shooters. what are some ofthe 360's most anticipated exclusive games? halo 3 -shooter, mass effect -rpg, pgr4 -racer, blue dragon -rpg, lost odyssey -rpg, didi miss any? now, present and future, does this really look like a "shooter console"?

18. Most of the 360's good games have lost their exclusivity to the PC. -no. gears of war, viva pinata, and lost planet. (any others?) look at the exclusive list in #17 and compare it to this one. does that look like most to you? it lost its highest scoring exclusive and two lower end AAEs. That's it.

Japan doesn't buy American products. -no. look at the ipod. an old article but the argument has been around long before it was written. http://www.mobilemag.com/content/100/344/C5263/an american product outselling its japanese competitor?(note: do not turn this into a discussion about racism or nationalism, no WW2 references. -_-)

The PS3 has doomed Sony.-no. sony's last two systems were wildly succesful. they're not a stupid company. did they make some mistakes this generation? absolutely. will they take first place again this generation? probably not.will they take second place? probably not. unless some extremely major, unforseen events take place the wii has this generation won as far as sales are concerned.while not selling all that well itself, the 360's year head start and better selling rate will make it very hard for the ps3 to catch it. is third place really so bad? no. the price will drop, more games will come out, more people will buy it. the world keeps spinning. the ps3 will not go the way of the dreamcast.

21. Nintendo is ruining gaming -no. the onlyplace it's ruining gaming is system wars. the last generation had the sales leader also being the clear games leader. this isn't the case for this generation. the 360 will soon be overtaken in the sales department by the wii even though it's lacking in games...here. things aren't as popular as they are for as long as they are for no reason. although nintendo's approach to gaming doesn't mesh well with the traditional system wars historical view on gaming, outside of system wars its approach is very appealing. people obviously want the kinds of games and gameplay that nintendo is offering. if you personally don't like it, you're rapidly approaching a minority spot amongst gamers. nintendo has never been known to conform.want to say that the wii mainly appeals to casuals? where would this industry be without casuals? it would most likely be worse off.still want to say that nintendo is ruining gaming? what's so bad about changing the way games are played? it's not all minigames.what do you see your console of choice doing in the future? is it going to "sell out", as you'd probably put it, to appeal to the casuals and leave you behind? if the companies that you support would do that to you, then gaming for you is already ruined...you just don't know it yet.

Every game with shooting in it is a shooter.-no. a shooter'sprimary focus is shooting.there are plenty of games with shooting elements that aren't shooters. the metal gear series is primarilya stealthgame. sometimes you are required to do some shooting but that doesn't make it a shooter. the deus ex games look very much like first person shooters but you can almostplay through them without ever firing a weapon. it's a first person rpg. gta and it's "clones" are not shooters. it's an action game with shooting elements. most of the time you're driving around. mass effect is not a shooter. it's a third personrpg with some of the characters using guns. same with kotor. halo, call of duty, resistance, killzone, doom, gears of war, unreal tournament...these are shooters.

How about these myths/arguments:

1)PC gamers are fat and live in their parents basements and don't take a bath

2)Sony gamers are asians or anime lovers that want to live in Japan and also are fat and don't like to scrub a dub dub

3)Wii gamers are little kids or grown men that are pedophiles

4)Xbox 360 gamers? I haven't heard any myths or arguments about them

These are just stereotypes(myths/arguments) that go around about a certant gaming class and I figured we could nip it in the bud in this thread

Yes they can, but in all honesty with the way SW has gone it sucks all the fun out of it.

SW was first and foremost always about having a laugh. Most of the people that post do so as fakeboys or in jest, just to rile up the other group. There really isn't anything malicious about it.

If you seriously want a decent well structured conversation you could still find it in SW along with the nonsense, trash and funnies but take all that away you get GGD, which is nothing like this place.

So exactly how is the PS3 catching up when the 360 is killing it in the U.S? Last I checked the U.S sales for 360 were > PS3 Japan + U.S (this could have changed now though) The PS3 is barely outselling the GBA and you believe its catching up?

The ipod is popular due to Sony not providing any compeition. Sony was late in the MP3 market hence the Ipod was able to rule the world easily.
