System Wars, vote!!! Which is the best Zelda game of all time???

In anticipation of the upcoming title, Spirit Tracks, and to celebrate the greatest game franchise of all time, I figured we should all have some Zelda fun. So, System Wars, this time, we don't fight about which system is the greatest, this time, we fight about which excellent game in a series that's bursting to the brim with 'em is the greatest!

So, which of the Zelda titles do you like the best?

My personal favourite is A Link to the Past. It's timeless, it's moving, and it's every bit as exciting or as relevant as it was two decades ago.

Majoras Mask.

ALTTP in a very close second.

Wind Waker. I actually liked the concept of the boat and traveling to different islands across the ocean.

Windwaker.

I enjoyed sailing much more than riding a horse and it was less of a hassle.

Edit: I'd say ALTTP but if I were to sit down for 10 hours with one of them right now, It'd be Windwaker.

Id vote for the very first one "The Legend of Zelda" for its time it was unmatched... somehow I felt less of a thrill with the later installments... a ling to the past I think.

The newer games, are less in my taste in general... altho I still love the music in them ^^

Can't really judge. Due to me not owning any Nintendo consoles, the only game I've played all the way through was Ocarina of Time. Played a little of ALttP at a hotel, and that was pretty sweet, but only got to the first main dungeon after Hyrule Castle. Played it at a friend's house and got to the second dungeon. And I also played a little of Majora's Mask at a hotel and at a friend's house. I found it a bit frustrating. Also played a bit of Oracle of Ages, but got very confused after the second dungeon. Oracle of Seasons I played only a little of. Also played the original through the first dungeon, and a little of the second. Man, Zelda II I couldn't even get to the first boss.

And I played a smidgen of Twilight Princess, but not much.

A link to the past is easily the best Zelda game of all time. I think if the Wii can get a new 2d Mario, they should put out an awesome new 2D Zelda game as well.

Fantastic game, but the only thing it had that clearly surpasses Zelda were puzzles.

Maybe the bosses as well.

Gameplay, diversity of gameplay and writing in Zelda games had reached their peak with Link's Awakening.

Easily Twilight Princess.

And currently Phantom Hourglass is my favorite for handhelds, but that will change in a few days.

For me it was probably Phantom Hour Glass to be honest.

Top 3 for me, in no particular order, would be LOZ: ALTTP, LOZ: OOT, LOZ: PH.

Not being bias, the best Zelda game would have to be OoT or TP. Both of them are landmarks in the series. Personally, however, MM and OoA/OoS are my favorites. MM is probably one of my favorite games of all time.

The best Zelda game of all time is probably Twilight Princess, very similar to Ocarina of Time just with all the bells and whistle added to it. It also doesn't hurt that the whole game without any sidequest is a long adventure from beginning to the end. As for my favorite all time it is still Majora Mask for me, love the three day system that was used for this game.

I actually prefer the 3D Zeldas over the 2D ones..so I would go with OoT>WW>MM

Note that even though I ranked one greater than the others, they are all very close. WW would have surpassed OoT if it had been a little longer and if they didn't **** up the ending with the Triforce Hunt. Majora's Mask has the darkest and best atmosphere of all the Zelda games and is amazing in its own right, but it was very hard getting into the game at times, the main quest left something to be desired, and you can't ignore the fact that it recycled characters from OoT.

Ehh, I think that TP was an OoT clone, except it took the things that made OoT great and completely ****ed it up. :(
