system wars: would you end it all?

For many, they come to this forum every day. Whether its their favorite game, console, or developer they religiously defend what they believe is the "best." Everyday, senselessly posting on topic after topic, making sure they are heard that their pc, xbox, wii, or ps3 is the best thing since the microwave oven. They somehow believe that posting something will make a difference in someones life. They think that the world is going to change if they post that their system has the greatest exclusive since when their was only one primate tribe that had fire.

My question for this community is: If you could, would you end the system war? Would you end the elitist, bickering, sensless war that goes on every day. Would you all realize that it doesn't matter which game someone else thinks has better graphics or better gameplay, just as long as you like it. Not someone else. You.

Sometimes I get wrapped up in it all, and start taking it seriously. But thats the time that I accidently call someone a name or something, then get banned for 7 days because he couldn't handle me calling him a fanboy. So now .. after my latest 7 day ban (a few days ago) i'm back. and completely impartial and out of the loop. I am looking at system wars and going "..... wat?"

Yeah its not to be taken seriously, but really, if its not to be taken seriously, why do so many people act like it is? I swear this board is just a place for people to come and vent on people with differing opinions. It's silly.

Not to mention no one acts like this in public. If you're a totaly microsoft fanatic here on SW, and you see someone playing a PSP in public, are you going to walk up to him, flip his PSP out of his hands, and have you and your buddies beat his face in cause he's obviously a "cow"? absolutely not.

I wouldnt end it. Gamespot understands that alot of people need the internet to act as a festering rugrat. So many start threads on low level accounts or make trolling ones to get the attention that they need to function. I say let them continue. It is a good laugh and I am all for the plight of the gamer that hates themselves!

Fine , because lemmings tend to be smarter and better people and you are just jealous because you chose the inferior console that stole almost all of playstation's third party IPs.

PS : Rumor has it the 360 will get a motion controller +price drop + casual games = I see it outselling the wii .

I think mostly everyone here knows that already. Those who actually believe their opinion about game A is better than game B even if they have a general consensus on their side are ignorant in my opinion.

Having a general consensus on their side doesn't serve in the matter of whether their opinion has a higher value than the other person. It just means mostly everyone agrees with you and nothing more.

You keep throwing around incorrect terms. Upset? Heavens no. It is entertaining, however, to go to a place and have a debate against someone with a different opinion. It's FUN. If it upset me, SW would be the last place I'd go. Why would I deliberately go to a place that upset me? That is entirelly illogical. I find a lot of entertainment here. I enjoy my time here.
