PS3 is listed as #1 most important home entertainment device since TV. Can't argue there8) With the games, movies, and media capabilities, PS3 is the gadget to own.

 Yea if Blu Ray Succeeds then the PS3 is amazing, and cheap for a blu ray player.

What if blu ray fails and HD DVD becomes the standerd, not only will the PS3 be hindered, but that fancy blu ray player is useless. And there arent enough games to justify the PS3s price yet.... 

But even if it does succeed, most people are content with DVD players, and like David Jaffe said, most people arent willing to trade in their entire DVD library. 

is there a reason anyone should care about T3?  It's neither a gaming magazine nor an electronics magazine.  hell, it's barely a worth-mentioning pop-culture magazine.

honestly guys.  wake me when a major magazine like Time, Newsweek, Businessweek, Wired, Popular Science, Popular Mechanics or some major newspaper like USAToday, Washington Post or the Chicago Tribune make such declariations.

And the reasons for naming it "most important" seem idiotic; they have NOTHING to do with GAMING!  

When it comes to gaming machines ps3 is NOT at the top of the heap. When it comes to multi-media center thingies its up there with the best. But im in it for the games and not useless features that, while nice to have, will rarely be used by me or most people.

if blu ray fails which i dont think it will. Mainly because of how many blu ray movies are coming out already. But anyways, even if it does, you would still have all that space for games...still, im confident that blu ray wins.

Considering the price of Blu Ray stand alone players, the PS3 is a huge bargain. The 60 GB PS3 is 700 dollars in Canada, Sony's stand alone is 1400 CAD, for double the price you get a device that just plays movies. Really I would rather pay the 700 and get a unit that will do both games and movies, plus it supports up to 7.1 surround sound, not every DVD player does that yet.

but that still doesn't invalidate what i said. you have to prove that magazine is not the #1 whatever in the world. search it, find wich one is it, and then i'll gladly agree it's not a reliable source. because i'd never trust a magazine that autoproclaims itself the best... but first you have to prove it.

Blu-ray has already surpassed HD-DVD substantially.... with PS3 and current sales there is no question that Blu-ray will continue as an HD movie format. The only question is when Toshiba gives up on HD-DVD. And no one is expecting HD discs to reach the levels DVDs have. Many people are content with DVD and only extreme Videophiles would rebuy everything. But there is a definately market for HD-movies and eventually it will be the only disc based movie format (there's no reason to change it for decades).

t3=the europe maxim magazine basically... or FHM, or Stuff magazine basically....lots of half naked women in every issue...to distract you from the horrible writing, and horrible reviews.

Lazyboy- they said the same thing about vhs, and dvd, There would be no reason to change it for a long time....so there ya go...
