I think its at end of 2019/early 2020. E3, it will be announced along with improved services for PSN. Ps5 bundled with Deep Down and The Agent preinstalled on the ssd.

Finally, looking forward to seeing Sony and PSN get back to multiplayer gaming.

I'm going to be a bit of a stickler and say 2021.

Mid-late 2020. They've fired on all cylinders in the last year. There are no more studios left to sustain the PS4 an extra year in terms of exclusives. They can technically stretch their remaining games out over the next 2 years and release PS5 on 2021 but I doubt that.

The last of us 2 and ghost of Tsushima look very late into development (we've seen lengthy gameplay of both way back in June). It's also already been confirmed that next generation games have been in development for quite some time too.

I expect a E3 2019 announcement and 2020 release. They have Death Stranding, The Last of Us 2, and Ghost of Tsushima coming out late 2019 or early 2020. Those games can be launch titles in native 4K for PS5. It would be a solid launch lineup, maybe even a Horizon 2 announcement with it (Guerrilla has had nearly 2 years of development time).

Do the consoles really need an SSD? I know they're much cheaper these days than they used to be, but I don't think speed is an issue. The OS used for consoles tends to be very light and many modern games have done away with loading screens.

Games are massive, Red Dead 2 is 100+GB. It might be more feasible to have a very large capacity HDD since I strongly doubt we will be seeing 2TB+ SSD's on PS5/Nextbox.

@SolidGame_basic: its pretty much the only thing left for Sony to do. Starting to see improvements with PSNow. I feel like Sony is finally focusing on PSN and will hopefully start seeing more games wether old or new ip with multiplayer in mind along with tried and true singleplayer games.

Year 2020 sounds much better because of 2020 sounds more futuristic in a way, it would make sense for Sony to release PS5 within that year.

The Last of Us 2 has a possible 2019 release date..... which means Ps5 is near, 2020 is my vote.

Impossible 2019. Way too many games are coming out. Would be suicide for Sony. I'm betting late 2020. By then they will reach their 100 million consoles sold goal.

I hope as late as possible, but voted 2020.
