Tales of Zestiria Coming Fall 2015, Still A PS3 Exclusive

Sorry guys, but if that PS4 and/or PC version is real, Bandai Namco aren't talking about it right now.

On another note, at least we finally have some idea of a release date for this game. I guess finalstar will be happy.

Average. It's not Vesperia or Symphonia level great, not Graces or Innocence level bad.

It seems to be on the higher side of the average spectrum too- Hearts is considered to be average, for example, but that game is just shit.

Well to be fair, even if Graces story/characters sucked, its combat system was a definite improvement on the past installments.

Story and characters almost always suck in Tales.

Well yeah, but that's why I typically judge Tales games by their combat system. I think in that regard the Tales games have generally been improving. Vesperia and Symphonia are good but feel a little clunky compared to Graces.

why? why do they keep making the main protagonist(s) young teens that sound very clueless?

Yuri Lowell was the first and last best character in tales of series.

@lawlessx: I think it's because Yuri is a bit of an asshole, willing to subject aristocrats to slow, painful deaths because they're assholes with too much power in their hands. (Though to be fair, he WAS a former knight, so i guess he sees just how big of an asshole aristocrats can be.)

Then again, Yuri is MUCH more mature than every other Tales protagonist.

All this praise of Vesperia does tempt me to buy a cheap 360 just to see if the game is as good as people say it is.

you don't get it THEY DON'T have a choice this game has to come out on PC/PS4/XB1 or its gonna flop they should probably just abandon the ps3 version get teams working on the others

all games flop when they come out on older systems look at TMNT 3 for NES when SNES was out or Final fantasy 9 for psx when ps2 was out

the core gamers already moved on from ps3 this cannot come out learn from the past imo you need to be on the current system or you flop

The graphics are a bit on the poor side, even for a PS3 title. I'm pretty sure Vesperia looks a lot better than this.

Not surprised. I don't think the added sales of a PS4 version would be enough to justify the costs of porting to a completely different system, on top of the usual localization costs.

Same reason why Yakuza 5 will also be PS3 exclusive when it comes out this year.

If you're interested in Japanese games, you shouldn't sell or put away your PS3. It will continue to get late-life localizations just like the PS2 did.

Yeah Graces f isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination. None of the Tales games are considered "bad".

Also I hear the game will have dual audio if anyone cares.

Not even Legendia, aka the worlds worst Tales game is "bad".

Still hoping out on a PS4 version, they've literally made PS4 versions for every other one of their games (God Eater, One Piece, J Stars, Jojo), they should do it for this.

But, the fact that the PS3 version is getting localized, makes me wonder if they still plan on releasing an enhanced version.

Holding off hope that other versions are just delayed and Namco didn't feel the need to mention yet. Xillia's slowdowns almost ruined the game for me, and from what I've heard the japanese version of this has it's own framerate troubles.

@Postosuchus: What other versions? I think the lack of Steam logo in that trailer can be attributed to the negativity surrounding Rise of Incarnates (the first PC game from the creators of Tekken and Tales). While I agree that the concerns are legitimate, people seem to forget Japan has next to no faith in PC gaming, as demonstrated by Nippon Ichi Software.

Tales of the Abyss is my favorite. I've played some of the newer ones, but not long enough to give a real opinion.

I've lost track of all "Tales of.... " games.

The last one I played I think was.... It also has an anime based on it.
Can't remember it's name though hrm - like said too many games.

Its ps2 all over again where japn devs start pooping out jrpgs left and right when the ps3 is well into its life cycle.

Tales of the Abyss is my favorite so far.

Where does Abyss rank in that? That's the only one I played, but Luke is a good protagonist, eventhough he spends a great deal of time being an asshole.

I can't speak for CharChar of course, but I place Abyss in the respectable third spot of Tales game rankings behind 1) Vesperia and 2) Symphonia.

They need to put some quality control back into this franchise because it just comes across really generic and samey with each release. Everything down to the cliche anime storyline, the generic art direction, the music that seems like it's been rehashed from other Tales games, the cringe worthy voice acting and script. It's like they're not even trying with the series anymore, just releasing more and more for the sheer sake of it or to milk the hell out of the franchise.

I can't say no to a Tales of game, so I'll be getting it. Just probably not day one as Tales games have dropped in price quickly these days.

I hate the camera in this tales, tales of xillia 1 and 2 got me hooked for more than 300 hrs, but this one seems a little unpolished compared to them. Now give me a PS4 version.
