Tales of Zestiria is Out Now!!!! Impressions and thoughts?

At long last the new Tales game has been released!!!

For the first time ever Tales of Zestiria has been released on PS4 and PC alongside the PS3

Anyone got it yet? thoughts?

picked it up today and so far loving it!!!!

Actually interested in this one due to warmer reception than some of the past ones.

hoping it sells well enough on the Pc. I would like to play tales of berseria on my rig

I also hope it sells extremely well on both the PS4 and PC so we can see even more future Tales get localized.

also for some reason Namco have completely blocked the ability to stream the game lol, its the only game i cant stream to Twitch ah Namco, amazing game tho!

I think a lot of Japanese developers are realizing that PC is a totally viable platform that lets them localize games overseas way more easily than with retail releases.

It's good, because at the moment Japanese games are blowing Western games out of the water for the most part.

And JRPG's in general are selling WELL!! Tale sof Zestiria had strong pre-orders on steam i mean they were also able to unlock all pre-order tiers on steam which unlocked Tales of Symphonia HD to those who purchase ToZ ( takes of symphonia available on PS3 with its sequel btw)

NISA have been also going strong to releasing games on PC and they've just recently announced Netunia rebirth 3 and mugen souls, mugen souls Z on steam... PC owners are supporting JRPG;s like crazy!

oh yea lightining returns also releasing on PC in few more months.

JRPGs are back in terms popularity!!

@finalstar2007: I love them coming to PC, since i game on Wii U, 3DS, and PC, its great to be getting more JRPGs nowadays. The world is truly evolving into greatness. Bandi Namco always showing that love, such a great company, they are slowly becoming my favorite third party for Nintendo.

It really is great! (except for xbox owners lol)

Next year the amount of JRPGs that are coming out is beyond amazing

@finalstar2007: Once they have a better foothold in Japan, they too will get some good ones from them. Bandi Namco caters to Japan with pride, they have never made an Xbox game. Namco has a special place with me since they gave me Dark Souls on PC, forever thankful.

Im glad that they are finally understanding there's a big market for JRPG's

Namco also releasing Sword Art Online: Lost Song next month which is another title im highly excited for!!

next year they got Sword Art Online 3, Digimon, Tales of Berseria and many more!

tales of versperia was on the xbox360...and im still waiting for them to port that over to the PC

It was sitting on Steam's Top Sellers list for around a week even before release, including #1 a few days, it certainly seems off to a good start.

The PC version apparently has some weird bugs (like crashing on language select if certain headphones are plugged in, and inaudible voices if 5.1 surround is selected) so I'm sitting on my copy a bit until the "soonish" patch comes out.

Would be nice to see them port it over to PC and PS4, honestly the game is already fully localized and done how hard could a port be? they did do it with Zestiria afterall, even more money from both PC and PS4 owners and im sure it will look real good on both platforms.

Opps, i was waaaayyyyy off, when i looked at the games list i didnt look at the 360 section, turns out, they made like 36+ 360 games.

Except for the part where the game is like a cinematic experience, the game is actually very positively received in PC.

I hope it's fucking good, I'd love a good tales game on PC.

@lawlessx: You and me both. TOZ's success on Steam would allow us to collectively outgrow the need to buy one game on steam just because the developer is making better games on consoles.

One thing i'd like to ask is if Bandai Namco weren't dumb enough to base their decision to bring Tales to Steam on how well Rise of Incarnates did, would Gundam Extreme VS Maxi Boost be a reasonable request at this point?

Definitely want it. Gonna pick it up in a few weeks/months when it has a minor sale... Halo 5 is gonna be taking all my time for the foreseeable future.

Youtube vids do not do the game justice. The game looks fantastic natively on the PS4. Easily the best looking Tales game to date.

Is it the same for the ps4 release?

Tales of Vesperia was arguably the best one in the series. And it was 360-exclusive for a long time, and still is in the Western world. I'd love to see the improved PS3 version get a Western release, or even better, get a PC port.

Last Tales of I played was Symphonia. I really liked that game, so I might pick this up on Steam.

My first PC Tales game will be Symphonia when it launches next year. I might pick up Zestiria when its on sale then.

Well I haven't gotten too deep into the game yet but I can say that the PC version is pretty good. I've played about an hour and a half so far.

Game looks great at 2160p and runs very smoothly. The game is engine locked at 30fps but it is w/e, I don't care. It is pretty smooth and just play with a Xbox 360/Xbox One controller.

Is it me or camera sucks during battle?

Tales od xillia camera was perfect?!

Its good for me, what do you do when you battle? let it auto move?? just hit L2 and move around the enemies thats what i do its perfect.

Well I wish them good,since I really enjoy the second installment back in 90s.

Oh,and they might have copyright issue with voice acting or music,so they don't want you to broadcast their game.Many japanese games have to remove music in their western release for that matter.

So the story started pretty interesting with the whole seraph, invisible messengers of the gods thing and got really fucking stupid with the forced in Camelot, knights of the round table crap.

Ports decent, it's 30fps but it's smooth. I kind of like how they did the combat, it reminds me of FF XII.

mine was tales of the abyss, loved that game. only tales game i played though

Music has kind of been a letdown so far, I hope there's some memorable tracks.

Lady of the lake's english voice acting I love however since I was a big fan of full metal panic. It's still early but I've played alot worst games on steam like neptunia, atleast this has plenty of gameplay. For some reason Sorey reminds me a lot of Tidus, I wonder if it's the same voice actor.

@finalstar2007: trying to play it as close as to tales of xillia but the camera really is shit... In xillia the battle arena was open, unlike Zestiria where there could stuff that block ur vision, also in xillia the camera was like a fighting game camera, unlike Zestiria where the camera looks at ur back... Really kills the battles for me. I am still at an early stage, so hopefully things will improve.

Yeah. the camera is pissing me off too I wish there was a way to zoom out.

My CE finally shipped from Bestbuy today. Can't wait to fire up another Tales adventure. Even the mediocre ones are still really fun to me.

you guys playing it on PC? I wonder if the PC version is different than the PS4 version because i been playing the game for a while and see no issues with the camera, just hit L2 (or whatever it is on PC) and go free roaming in battle its much better
