Let's be honest here. Were it not for Playstation, there would be no XBox. XBox is a brand that completely revolves around malcontentment for Sony and the Playstation.

It took Sony being BRAINDEAD AS ALL **** for the XBox 360 to make any headway in the console market. The one underlying truth no Lemming wants to talk about is that when Sony has their shit straight, they have an uphill battle ahead. When MS completely bones up their console debut and treats the core gamers like a nest of hornets they can wail with a DRM stick, things look even worse.

We're hyped as anyone to play next gen. Just not a big deal hyping every five minutes. Having a great thread like yours with tons of Xbox One info and features footage is all we need. Im an X1 fan, I rip the PS4 because I think its a dull and uninspired console. Im also not here to hype the X1 and make other people want it. I dont care what you or anyone else buys. Im purchasing the console I want because it meets my needs better. Simple.

Probably because there aren't really that many hardcore Lems? Most of the people I know on here that defend the 360 also own a PS3, or owned a PS2. They are gamers who just happen to prefer the Xbox brand for some reason. Compare that to some of the hardcore PS fanboys who would rather have needles placed in their eyes than own anything Xbox.

Lems are likely being a bit more realistic, everyone is a bit reserved about the launch, apart from the cows, because they hyped hard as usual, that is their style and it's fine. If their stuff flops, others get to claim ownage, that's how it works. Also if the positions were reversed, the cows would have torn the lems a new ass by now.

You should be grateful the cows are just getting a ribbing by comparison. The cows would not have been so nice at all. And considering the shit kicking they've been giving the X1 since May, would you really deny the lems a little bit of revenge.

Just because the cows over hype, it doesn't mean everyone else has to, to keep a balance if they're reserved about the launch games. I, myself hope Forza gets an 8, and would consider KI lucky to get an 8 (I hope). I expect Ryse to get a 6 or 7 at the very most and DR 3 a 7 at best. I'll be picking up Forza and Fifa at launch.

Good point, and while I can buy into the whole lems being realistic crap, your idea of being realistic is that you think you're being realistic because of past experiences where launch games haven't done so well. So, either way, you're saying lems aren't quiet because they don't want to hype and get owned, but that they're quiet because they've learned from the past not to get their hopes up too much? Like I said, the point of hype isn't to tell me launch games don't do so well from your experiences. The point of hype is to show how excited you are for the launch games, and if you're letting what's happened in the past control how excited you allow yourself to get, then that's even worse than what my OP is accusing you guys of.

I'm not getting over excited based on what i've seen and heard. It's not fear of launch games. If you look at the logic it will guide you. For example, with the PS4, Knack wasn't looking great for a while and we weren't hearing good things, and Killzone hardly has a reputation for being genre leading, the series has always had problems, fluctuating up and down from an 8.

As for Xbox One: With Forza, it could be good, I think the gameplay is there, it'll be a solid game, but with less cars and tracks, I don't want to push a 9/10.

KI has been mixed leading with positive edge on things, but also given it's free to play state, i'm not sure what's going to happen.

DR3, looks good, not my thing and we've been hearing about some performance issues,

Ryse, while it may look good, from what I hear has gameplay issues.

It is damage control though... When deflecting the attention on someone/something else. Cows got called out about underhyping their games after talking enormous amounts of hype FOR their games. That's the conversation. A faction (the cows) talked big and when they had the opportunity to put their money where their mouth is and click the button to show their hype, they chose to play their feelings against the metagame... that's just sad sad sad.... like really sad. Best part though, McShea still clowned em'.

As for Lems... I see hype threads come and go at different times... not sure that a hype thread for a console thats still a week away is overly necessary, but we are getting close, so you'd like to see the faction come out in a system wars sense a little more proud... it still remains to be seen over this next week...

Where you're ultimately wrong in this conversation is... in system wars we react to reviewed games and whether or not they meet the hype we talk... The existence of a hype thread is nice, but it's not necessary to bury the other faction in a measurable form of "ownage" like a review. The idea of FIXING the poll just to save face, not only cheapens the very thing we come here to do, but it also casts a major shadow that resembles the shape of a vagina all over an entire faction in System wars...

In short, Damage Control is the deflecting of attention or damage off on something else arbitrary... calling out Lems because they havent been overly vocal on a largely cow populated forum (ATM - it fluctuates every year it seems) is the deflection away from the rightful ass whooping the cows took yesterday on many fronts. Breathe in... accept it and blow it out.

In other news... Im picking up my PS4 tomorrow at lunch and I can't wait to play AC4.
