Kotaku Article:
SoulCalibur, one of the most recognized and acclaimed weapons based Fighters in video games, is known not only for its own cast of memorable characters, but also adopting characters from other game sources. From Link, to Heihachi, to Todd McFarlane's Spawn, to Star Wars' Yoda and Darth Vader, the series has given gamers a chance to live out various battle fantasies.
And now just confirmed, the fifth instalment of the long running franchise will feature a guest cast of some of the most famous and loved martial artists. Being born in comic books, they made sweeping transitions into cartoons, movies (both live action and animated) and of course video games.
It is in fact their heritage in games that has made this partnership possible. They are already established as highly accomplished martial arts warriors, each fitted with their own unique weapon styIe, making this a natural choice.
Namco is grateful to be able to incorporate these beloved characters into their universe, and even more excited at the possibilities of what they can do with them. Where in other games, the Turtles combat had been directed by basic action hack n' slash systems, Namco is reworking them in the most detailed & complex combat engine we've ever seen them in, which promises to bring them to life as never before. Each will be tailored to their weapon discipline, as well as personalized stances and posture, bringing the largest movement animation sets ever seen for the Turtles in a video game.
