This is the following update that Eurogamer did on Tekken 6:

Tekken 6 PS3/360: The resolution game.

Should any of us be surprised?

EDIT: I don't know if this is revelant or not, but someone in that article says this...

"In terms of overall image quality across the two modes and two consoles, the PS3 gets the nod in "blur off" mode thanks to decent enough upscaling based on an anti-aliased image, while in default mode with the motion blur active, the 360's enhanced texture filtering gives clear image quality advantages."

What do you think?

Well I would have been a bit...if the 360 version was superior in both outputs, with Motion and without while PS3 was the lead platform. Seems like they took advantage of the XENOS.

Still PS3 ver. seems overall better, I suppose.

More or less the reverse of Ninja Gaiden 2 vs Sigma 2. Anyway, this is why consoles are a gaming minefield. With a PC you don't have to worry about cutting corners, you can add as much RAM as you want, all the processors are out-of-order, and the videocards have an obscene memory bandwidth. Why is it I've been playing in 1280x1024 before the consoles even released, and yet in late 2009 console developers are still releasing games below 720p resolution with minimal anti-aliasing support? This stupid motion blurring effect and all the other post-processing garbage all the developers like to saturate their games with need to stop. Focus on ensuring that the image quality of our games doesn't rend our eyes to bits before you worry about all these stupid flourishes. For example Bioshock on PS3 had a needless blur filter to dampen texture and image quality....

I'm also suprised, too, especially when it could acheive the same thing on the 360 in less development time & money.

Or maybe they should focus on gameplay... I wouldn't have a problem with the resolution, even though it's surprising that it isn't at least 720p, if the game is actually fun to play. I hope no one would put graphics over gameplay. I expected more in the graphics after Tekken 5 for the ps2 looked so good, but it won't really matter if the game is any good. And if you've ever played a Tekken game, you know it'll be at least great, if not amazing.

Well you should lose faith in humanity because they still play FPS games like Halo and CoD not tekken.

I may skip this game now that Super Street Fighter 4 has been announced. In Tekken all the characters seem the same to me and this game has been delayed far to long for it to be so sub par looking.

Actually, it was in 720p on the PS3 version, though lower if you set it to 1080p mode, the 360 version, the one I used to have, is in 1365x960.

While I agree with your state about cutting corners, there are also disadvantages to the PC platform like having to worry about compatibility. Knowing exactly what your limits are an advantage. But I don't deny the superiority of PC game visuals (and sometimes controls).
