Good. F*ck anyone who advocates paid DLC characters in a fighting game. The very concept is a gigantic middle finger to anyone who values competitive fairness and balance.

i highly doubt he would quit but he is firmly against DLC and always has been. Its because of him that TTT2 is receiving free dlc chars in a game that's already jam packed with chars.

I personally don't really care either way. I understand that having to buy a character just to be able to get a decent amount of knowledge to fight with them is a bit...eh. And I also understand that DLC characters so far have mostly been somewhat OP (since no one wants to buy a **** character). I just also like being able to support the developers, and I respect their want to charge for the extra time and money they put into the game for the characters.

There's a reason Tekken is king of 3D fighters since ever.

I don't beleive that at all. SFxT was a special case IMO, and that was to give people a reason to buy the vita version. Outfits are something else all together for 3D characters, and I have absolutely no problem with charging for them.

I don't mind paid DLC. A lot of people say games used to come with all this content before but then I think back to SF2 on the SNES and how it was only like 12 characters and like 6 pallete swaps for $70 then I pop in the $40 SSF4 and it's like 30 characters and twelve colors per character and people say the latter is the rip-off and lacking content compared to the "old days".

Even outside of fighters, people complain about Modern Warfare only having like 4 different modes and double digit amounts of multiplayer maps in the box and how that's a rip off and lacking content. I go back in pop in Perfect Dark and there's only like 2 modes and 6 maps, yet CoD is said to be holding back content and ripping people off compared to the "old days".

What are these "old days" people always speak of?

I'm guessing the boss isn't happy about Capcom's disc-locked content.

That's merely your opinion. Even if that were true, it wouldn't totally disregard every other fighting game's level of depth or balance.

But I like how depth is the only thing Virtua Fighter gets praised for. I guess that's why the series and its characters are so popular...

Oh wait......

Not to big on fighting games, but I love the Tekken series. Tekken 2 is the reason I bought a PS1 over an N64. Just got Tekken 6 a few weeks ago. I look forward to TTT2.

dlc isnt bad if the content is actually made after the game ships.

When the content is made before the game ships and not including it in the game is purposely ripping people off.

I'm surprised he was able to resist his superiors with the whole paid dlcs. Namco are ruthless with dlcs and are bad as Capcom. Kudos on his strong belief and willing to quit over it. Not many people are willing to do that.

excellent, SFxT was complete crap to be brutally honest, i cant wait til Tekken studio do their take on it no doubt it'll be more responsive less sluggish and tekken characters might be on a bit better level when it comes to balance :P

you know streetfighterxtekken is having people pay 20 bucks to unlock on the characters already on the disc right? meaning if you bought the game new your paying basically 80 bucks. But hey man if you wanna defend this pratice go for it.

DLC characters in fighters is just completely dumb, it's not like other genres where DLC doesn't affect the overall game. We are talking about characters that we have played for decades and now developers are making us pay for them individually instead of unlocking like it used to be. I don't have a problem with DLC but the way its currently done in fighting games is just not right.
