Sneak Peek at Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Comes To PS3 Early With Tekken Hybrid

Michael McWhertor — PlayStation 3 owners will get a taste of fighting game Tekken Tag Tournament 2 this fall. A "Prologue" version of the arcade game will be included in the upcoming Tekken Hybrid Blu-ray, Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada revealed at Comic-Con today.

In addition to the CG animated feature Tekken: Blood Vengeance and the enhanced port Tekken Tag Tournament HD, Tekken Hybrid will also include Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Prologue, essentially a demo version of a game that was previously only announced for arcades. That's three Tekken things on just one disc.

The Tekken team showed off a brief teaser for TTT2 Prologue at Comic-Con today. Seen fighting were Tekken: Blood Vengeance stars Ling Xiaoyu and Alisa Boskonovitch, clothed in their costumes from the CG movie. The two girls battled Devil, a character currently not featured in the arcade version of Tekken Tag Tournament 2, but said to be added to the game later this year.

Harada pointed out that Alisa and Xiaoyu won't be the only playable characters in Prologue, but did not elaborate on who else might be included.

No firm date on Tekken Hybrid for PS3, but expect it before the end of the year.

Wow, it's sad that Sony is doing so poorly that a demo gets people excited.

Sounds pretty good. I am not the biggest Tekken fan but if it saves me money i'm all for it.

Not a day 1 purchase or anything, but Tekken Tag was pretty great. I'm more interested in a solid release date for the full fledged second though.

I did wanna try the original Tekken Tag Tournament, so this sounds good to me. I'm interested in that movie too. And I guess that demo is a nice plus.

Tekken Tag was one of my favourite Tekken. I've played Tekken 5:DR Online. Haven't played much of 6 so I should try and pick up the next Tekken Tag.

As for Tekken Tag 2, I'll give it a shot.:) I didn't like Tekken 6, at all.:( Tekken 3 and 5 were my favorite, kind of obvious since they are the best in the series.:P

man, ps3 got so many damn games i cant keep up! keep it up sony and remake the entire ps1 ps2 line up please and make it HD with trophies, yous the best in my eyes
