Does anyone here not like the wall system in the latest Tekken games? I loved Tekken Tag so much that I ditched Tekken 4, skipped Tekken 5 and returned Tekken 6. Call me a noob or whatever but I think the vanilla Tekken is the best.

I know people have complained about the non-interactive environments in Tekken games, but that's what I've always liked so much. You actually had some space to move around. Now someone can basically juggle you against a wall until you die.
(They really screwed tekken 4 up, but tekken 5 is the best tekken to date (IMO) and tekken 6 is close (but not as good as TTT)
Well since the Tekken Devs are currently working on Tekken X SF I dont expect Tekken 7 or Tekken Tag Tournement 2 (whichever game is next ) to be out until next-gen consoles are out. Im looking forward to seeing if the series improves on next-gen consoles.
I think Tekken kinda sucks. Get juggled to death, smashed against walls or beaten while on the ground constantly with no way to defend myself... It's fun to play casually tho.locopatho
It wasnt like that until Tekken 4. Make one mistake and expect to lose half your health bar. Back then it was purely busting out moves and strategy.
Tekken 3 for its time was by far the best Tekken. But Tekken 5 has the best formula, easily. Tekken 6 is pretty much Tekken 5 upscaled to HD but with crappy endings, crappy story mode, crappy voice acting etc. Way to let me down Namco :(

Except that Tekken has a hardcore scene going on, with people that actually KNOW HOW TO PLAY...unlike yourself. Go look up Tekken Crash on youtube. Tekken gets hated for no reason, the only reason I can think of is that they played maybe a few hours of Tekken Online and got juggle to death. Learn2defend. This is not a button masher. I don't like the juggle heavy emphasis they put in Tekken 6. Mind you, Juggling has ALWAYS been in Tekken since Tekken 1. T6 just goes way to far IMO.
Well, Tekken 6 does have a mix of "wall" and "endless" stages. I think that's the best way to do it :).

I know it's not a button masher, I play with people who are pretty good and I'm not terrible myself. But a friend of mine can pick Christine and with one combo take the majority of my health. It's not a question of skill when I'm being kicked around the sky with 0 chance to block, dodge or counter! A single landed attack and whoop, there's most of my health gone. And being kicked around on the ground or against a wall is a bit less terrible, it's still very annoying.
0 chance? Are you kidding me?
You can duck to block lows. If the attack stops when the move gets ducked -> PUNISH THEM WITH A LAUNCH
You can low parry low attacks -> puts the enemy in bound and you can punish-juggle them. That makes them thing twice before attempting another low attack again.
You can duck under high attacks and punish.
You can defend in general and wait for the enemy to have a bad recovery...and punish.
Some characters have mid and high parry's.
So this is 0 chance?

Yeah not on about general gameplay, I'm on about when they get one attack in to launch me. Then just batter me around the sky, I can't block or anything when I'm being thumped repeatedly in midair.
Just analyze the attacks. Cristie/Eddy players attack in REALLY predictable patterns.
Just turtle it out, let of of the attack button and defend until you see an opening. You see him miss an attack? Punish.
You see the enemy have a huge recovery time? Attack.
Problem with Tekken is, you want to retaliate after each attack. The enemy knows this and starts fishing for counterhits.
You need GOOD defense in Tekken before you even can start about offense. Dont go mashing buttons as you get angered.
Remember: It is better to stay standing and defending...and get hit by a few lows...than ducking the whole time and get murdered by an avalance of mid attacks.
Tekken is all about reflexes.
Don't get launched then lol. Only a few moves can launch an enemy in the air. Defend against those particular moves.
I'm not gonna block 100% of attacks tho, and the one gets thru ****s me. I'm a street fighter man anyway, so perhaps I'll be happier playing one the X games coming out :)Don't get launched then lol. Only a few moves can launch an enemy in the air. Defend against those particular moves.

Tekken is by no means perfect, and has been going downhill here and there, but it takes more common sense and timing than most people care to realize; Which leads people to complain about it being a mess. Its still a good series at heart, just like street fighter. Its good. Just not great.
Honestly after SCIV I have been just disappointed over and over with 3D fighters. Probably because playing online with people who are good bring to light all the unbalance but I am content with SSFIV, Blazblue and the other upcoming Capcom fighters. Namco just spends so much time filling the roster that they forget to balance out their old characters so the new characters get all the pluses while King players like myself get the shaft. Javy03
Agreed and i didn't even like SC4. I would also like to declare myself a KING player
