Look, I have nothing against the games, I just do not understand why they are so hyped. Sure they can be fun, but nothing I would consider top notch. Please give me good reasons why the halo games were original.
because its simple, thats the only reason ultimately, if it would have been more complicated it wouldnt have lasted this long, simplicity has kept halo alive

I don't really love Halo, but I think it's probably because it was the first good online fps on a console, even if it was only 8vs8 fight... It's the Goldeneye and doom 1 syndrom, people like game who set a new standar on their platform.
It's good because the multiplayer is of a high quality, and the basic core gameplay and controls are smooth as butter.
Halo's biggest issue (as a collective whole) lies in the single player content itself, which, almost all of the time, is simply mediocre.
Overall I feel like it's a very solid FPS series, even if it is a bit overrated. I certainly woudn't recommend Halo to fans of quality single player shooters, as the real strength of the Halo games is in the multiplayer.
