we all know the series is extremely overrated, and some people argue that it isnt.
So tell me lemmings, why is halo NOT an overrated series?

Because it is the best FPS on consoles, name one that is better. When looking at everything. Single player, multiplayer, and the feel of the game. Flexmaster_365what he said. because console shooters are no where near as good as Halo. Rainbow Six, Time Splitters, Call of Duty, Unreal Championship, etc were all good but not Halo. Halo is anything but overrated. The haters will never admit it though.
1. Because it is one of (if not the) best console shooters to date.
2. Because unlike most other FPSs out there, Halo offers both an awesome single and muliplayer experience. Most other shooters can only seem to get one right.
3. Because something being overrated is an opinion. It may very well be overrated to you, and that's fine. To me it deserves all the 9.0+s and awards that it gets. Again, that is my opinion.
because the graphics are nice the single player has alwas been great and everyone loves the multiplayer because its really addicting.
and i think the co-op will master this game.
so there.
TC why don't you do such research. For starters look at the many reviews like the gamespot ones for example or...how about doing a search in this forum as people keep putting this crap up 24/7 asking why Halo is good and in doing that really trying to say Halo sucks, why do you like it? It's really sad and it's amazing how huge Halo really is.
It may not be the biggest selling game of all time but it certainly appears like one of them the way so many people bash it in here it's hilarious
What Halo did back on the first Xbox was bring to many gamers an FPS immersive experience never done before. Sure you had Goldeneye, Turok, but those games never took it to the level of Halo. Halo had the A.I., storyline, immersion, graphics, smoothness, music, epicness, and multiplayer to boot. Plus when I finally beat it on legendary and saw the secret ending it made me feel sublime.
Halo was the reason why the Xbox was able to launch sucessfully. Halo and the creators deserve all the props they got. Oh yea I also forgot to mention it was the first Xbox co-op game. That was pretty cool too.
In conclusion Halo made me feel like I was Master Chief. It was a hell of a ride and one I will never forget. Halo is not overrated. It still is one of the best console FPS to date.
It's an excellent game in single and multiplayer. As far as Halo 3 goes it seems to be more of the same, though not original at all. The game has 4 million preorders.
It's a great series, but yeah, it's overhyped like crazy.

Halo 2 SP = :|
I enjoyed it very much. Most of the time, when people bash Halo 2's single player, they're really just bashing the ending.

yea i agree, the single player for halo 2 was awsome it just ended bad.
*sigh*...
1. It almost single-handedly carried an entire system with no previous fanbase for the series or the system.
2. BILLIONS of online matches played in Halo 2.
3. Halo 2 - 24hrs - $125million - need I say more?
4. A combined 40 some GOTY awards, I guess reviewers are all blind fanboys, right?
5. You are obviously very biased and believe your sole opinion is mass-believed factual evidence.
6. I think I'm done here.
Most things that get as big as the Halo series has garnertalk of overrated by people. It's just hard to live up to it's own hype.MikeE21286
Indeed, take a look at Nintendo's leading Franchise Mario Galaxy ... fans are hyping this goty for hells sake .... yet its not going to get it.

It's just great games. Bungie deserves all the props it gets. Also I like how unlike most fps devs out there bungie faces problems with fps rather than avoiding them. For example online play. There has always been broadly the same setup for online and once there was ranked play, you'd get cheating. Then, most devs just avoid the problem and do the online like it has always been. Bungie instead, creates a whole new setup for the online, and it worked awesomely. Of course though, it wasn't perfect, because somehow cheating was still possible. Instead of now just forgetting about it and going unranked to avoid cheating they have already announced there will still be ranked play with organized teams, and they're hard at work for finding solutions for the advanced cheaters and with that they may create the new standard for online play.
/wall of text.
And oh yeah, reviews are opinions, so a game can't be overrated if you believe the reviews instead of the hype. Last time I checked (before zelda TP at least and god of war 2) both halo games were in top 20 of gamerankings. Case closed.
