Another Epic exclusive, I guess. Yay.
1/2 We are happy to announce that Tencent will be taking the #SystemShock franchise forward.

@lundy86_4: Oh, is it already a thread? I searched for it and just skimmed the results lol.

Anything from China, no thanks.
Chinese make best kind of products quality.
Don't be stupid, are you seriously going to shill China now because of this game?
Stop being anti china.
they make 2 kind of products. Expensive products for rich and similar copy of same products but low in quality for those who cant afford it. they want rich and poor to enjoy same kind of products.
It baffles me with the current climate in the US, there are still so many racists around.
Here’s some tips to boycott Chinese products.
Firstly don’t use paper and definitely don’t purchase bullets (before another psychotic rampage that’s certainly made-in-America), paper and gun powder were invited by the Chinese.
Also avoid usage of crude oil because it was first used as an energy source by the Chinese. The Chinese dominate the global oil markets these days, they practically control the most important Dated Brent contract due to their ownership of several oil fields used for benchmark calculation.
Definitely avoid practically all electronics, if they’re built in China some of your money will definitely paid to the Chinese government in the form of taxes.
You should perhaps consider going vegan because sorry to tell you Smithfield foods is owned by a Chinese company. If you do go vegan don’t eat tofu, that’s so Chinese!
Remember use salt not soya sauce too!
You definitely should avoid an AMC cinema because that’s money straight into a Chinese person’s pocket.
The vast majority of Apple, Microsoft, Nintendo, Sony, Samsung products and your PC are built in China. So it’s time to give that up to.
If you happen to own one those electronics not manufactured in China, you gotta check the battery because the chances are it will contain rare earth elements owned directly by a Chinese state-owned company. That’s money straight into the Chinese government!
You could remove the battery and use a DC adaptor but the chances are the plastic would come from a Chinese petrochemical company along with the metal parts of its manufactured in Asia.
Do not work in the US government because part of your wages are funded by debt and China owns a lot of that too!
You can also forget using 5G, most of the patents are held by Huawei. Even if your network does not use components made by Huawei, they’re still going to earn royalties.
There is still WiFi of course but you better check where your modem and router was made and God forbid it’s a Chinese company.
Almost forgot Epic, at least 40% owned by the Chinese. That includes the epic store that gave you GTA 5 for free and the upcoming new game engine some of you were practically ejaculating over a few weeks ago! Don’t forget that’s money straight into a Chinese company and they’re taxed so straight to Xi’s pocket!!! Definitely avoid at all cost!
Of course the Chinese are evil, they’re not brave warriors from the west bringing peace and stability to Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya and Syria.
Not to mention all the love aimed directly at Iran.
Good luck with your boycotting!
I have nothing against China myself, and I'm gonna keep it that way :)
BoT: I'll wait for reviews before passing judgment rather I'll buy System Shock 3 but at the end of the day, I hope it turns out to be a good game and if not, oh well.

The one Lundy is talking about is the thread that was made months ago by Ghost regarding System Shock 3 by Tencent which was still a rumor. So this thread is good, so no worries.
I can live without SS3..
Screw digital store exclusivity.
be glad some big billionaire company is funding this masterpiece. otherwise they had no hope because games like this need big budget and not kickstarter.
@kadin_kai:
While paper and gunpowder definitely came from the Chinese, the crude oil claim is doubtful. There's evidence that it was used in ancient Babylon (Iraq) thousands of years before the ancient Chinese used it. While the ancient Chinese were one of the first civilizations to use crude oil, it would be inaccurate to give them exclusive credit for it.
Either way, this isn't about ancient China. It's about the CCP. Just because Americans invented a bunch of shit too, that doesn't mean people should just shut up and stop criticizing the US government. Same goes for China. While the Trump administration are a bunch of scumbags, the CCP are definitely worse. Whether it's in terms of freedom, democracy, human rights, minority rights, concentration camps, animal rights, bullying neighboring countries, infecting the world with COVID, etc. The CCP is worse than the Trump admin in almost every way.
While I'm sure much of the anti-Chinese sentiments coming from the Trump admin and their supporters are indeed motivated by racism, that's not true for the vast majority of China's critics. In fact, the majority of China's critics are Asians, most of whom are definitely not motivated by racism. There are plenty of reasons why many people around the world have issues with China.

My post was in reference to those who claimed they will not purchase a game simply because it’s from a Chinese company. Obviously no racism here huh!
Obviously you are entitled an opinion but factually the Chinese government has done far more for its people in the past 40 years than the US government!
Minority rights in China are far better than those in America! Have you never read the Chinese constitution, of course you have not. Nor are you aware of all the affirmative action in China for minorities!
Regarding human rights, well from what I see in the news in the US it seems to only apply to Caucasian. I also question whether you consider those loving in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Libya are human? Well are they? They haven’t been treated as humans by the US have they?
As for COVID-19 are you blaming a natural phenomenon? Have you spoken out against H1N1?

It's not just any Chinese company though. It's Tencent, which is more-or-less under CCP control:
Worried about Huawei? Take a closer look at Tencent (The Japan Times)
I'm not talking about what happened 40 years ago. I'm talking about the present, what's been happening in the last few years. Of course the US has perpetrated atrocities and crimes against humanity in the past. But so has China. Like when the CCP under Mao launched the "Cultural Revolution" which killed 30 million people, greater than the number of people killed by Hitler and Stalin.
I've been a critic of America's "War on Terror" for a long time now. And I fail to see how China's own "War on Terror" against the Uyghur people is any better. If anything, it's worse, incarcerating millions of people into concentration camps. So much for "minority rights". There's also evidence of organ trafficking from minorities including the Uyghur and Falun Gong.
COVID-19 is not a natural phenomenon, but it was spread from bats to humans via China's wet markets. Where, for the record, all kinds of animal rights abuses are perpetrated, including the most horrific animal torture imaginable. It's those same wet markets that gave us COVID-19. And the CCP's attempted cover-up and crackdown on doctors led to the COVID-19 pandemic getting out of control and spreading across the world.

You do like to contradict yourself, within a paragraph you say, ‘I’m not talking about 40 years ago and then go straight to Mao.’
Are you aware that living is better than dying? So when the US goes on its murder rampage that’s better than incarceration and undergoing a anti-extremist programme?
So COVID19 is man-made? Wow you must be a close confident of Trump and Pompeo. They apparently have ample evidence COVID19 was made in a lab in Wuhan, unfortunately they refused to show a single thread of evidence and practically all scientists say the opposite.
Animal abuse, are you a vegan too?
