Sorry if old.

Found this in Kotaku.

''Talk about a busy guy. Tetsuya Nomura worked as main character designer on Final Fantasy XIII, director and designer for Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep and ditto for Final Fantasy Versus XIII.

We forgot Final Fantasy Agito XIII! He's character designer for that, too.

In the most recent issue of Famitsu, Nomura reveals that he is working on two unannounced titles. He gives some updates, saying that they are working to bring up the quality so that the difference between real time and pre-renders in the upcoming Final Fantasy Versus XIII is seamless. He also says that development for Agito is going favorably.

"There is a still yet unannounced title that I am working on sooner than thought," he says. Voice recording for this title has begun.

"It's not a brand new title, but there is one more unannounced title."

My first impression of Testsuya's pics:

"Oh, look! Now we know where the main character designer (FF13) got his inspirations...''

Holy girl-boy hybrids, Batman! Is that thing a man or women? It's getting harder and harder to tell whether these Final Fantasy character designers are 49% male-51% female or 51% male-49% female.

I've always thought one of the main problems Square-Enix had was that they are spread too thin; they are making too many projects therefore it takes longer for other projects to release. Of course they have big teams to remedy this, but when you have a guy like Nomura directing and designing multiple projects at the same time it can only mean lone production times.

Its been how long for FFVSXIII and we still have hardly seen gameplay, although at some recent event they showed footage behind closed doors. Its insane how long we wait. If anything, the company shouldn't announce their games so early.

But theres a reason for that. It makes no sense really to hype up one gameover the other. Why hype Versus XIII over Final Fantasy XIII? Plus, do people really think development was stalled during the development of XIII. Seriously, ,this is a huge company now.

that aside, Its probably the game going under the title "One Goal Spirit" or something. They annoucned it earlier, but the game got eclisped by the whole Final Fantasy XIII going multiplat thing.

That's why FF male characters look so feminine. Look at the designer!

Anyway, SE should never let the same designer work on more than 2 projects at a time. It only causes problems. Also, stop making financially stupid decisions, it only makes you look more incompetent. Rotate and come up with something that is not FF, DQ and KH and make sure you market them well. FF is weakening and you put KH mainline game on the system with thee worst software sales this gen in the rgion KH is bigger than FF in. Does that make sense?

He may not be doing the clothes for VERSUS but he's done overall character designs many times before.

Hmm, looks like he's going for the pocket and moderate buckle approach in that outfit :o

DeckardLee

They weren't originally talking about people in Japan who are like that. They were mocking the artstyle that Nomura uses to portray male characters in videogames. The one thing that kills in Japanese anime is when you have a male character who is almost near-Geisha, and cast spells...most of the time he plays this sly villain. I know we've all seen a character like that in videogames or in anime. xD

Then should we blame the directors then because he develops the clothes according to what the director sets the characters occupation. Then they approve them:o Look at the differences in Parasite Eve and others. The only one I can think of is Kingdom Hearts were he designed the characters clothes fully himself and even then, that was for kids appeal mainly.

Oh and Final Fantasy VIII was his, but he had influence.

Im just poking fun at him lol. All in all the designs are his creation, his influence and for the most part they involve clothes compartments and buckles.

They're in no way bad, just redundant. Seems like a habit he has.

99%, probably. For some reason, seeing topless he-man characters, with bulging muscles and practically naked is somehow less homo-erotic than someone having a modern hair style. Go figure, really.

You're an idiot to say that. Look at Anami Kojima, Akihiko Yoshida, Yoshitaka Amano,Yoji Shinkawa, and Shigenori Soejima works. Then come back and tell me they look like Nomura's designs.

No, not all English speakers are what you said(just jrpg haters mainly), but a lot like the fools making fun of Tetsuya Nomura over his hair cut are... What is having long blond hair not manly? Who determines this crap? If it was up to these type of people (not going to say which faction most of them belong to, but just guess)everyone would be decked out in shaved heads and be marines... I bet you Tetsuya Nomura gets more tail then half of you fools making fun of him. Anyone who makes fun of someone based on their hair color and length has peronsal issues themselves. I have long hair myself, are you going to make fun of me too? How about 90% the bands from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and early 90s you know when music meant something and we had actual rock stars... oh I guess all of those people are half chicks too according to Deckard and ilk.

I don't think anyone should make fun of the guy over the haircut but I do have to say his haircut does look quite douchey. It's not the fact that its blonde, it's the fact that it looks like he's trying to be an anime character.

Also, the whole "when music meant something" quote is kind of silly. What exactly did music "mean" back then?

Nomura dont just designs for FF. His designs for games like Parasite Eve are perfectly normal. Even for Versus, a fantasy game, his designs are way more normal, cause the game is to be set on earth and take an approach more close to reality. But its still fantasy and so they dont dress completely normal.

That's why FF male characters look so feminine. Look at the designer!

The only characters I remeber looking femine were from FF12... that kid (the one ff game I haven't played yet).... If it was up to you people everyone would have skin-heads, crew-cuts, or green space helmets like 70% of the titles that come out of America. Thankfully, the Japanese have their own styles and it's nice seeing a character that actually you know isn't a half-naked bulging muscle space marine with a crew cut. It's like you guys grew up in the 50's or something, you sound like my step-dad(when i was growing up), who grew up in the 40s-50s- and was a marine, anyone with the slightest bit of hair more then an inch long he used to call no good hippies and get mad at...

Holy girl-boy hybrids, Batman! Is that thing a man or women? It's getting harder and harder to tell whether these Final Fantasy character designers are 49% male-51% female or 51% male-49% female.

Lol I was born in Japan and we wondered whether english-speakers were 100% @$$h0les or 99% @$$h0les. Go figure, you have nothing against a fohawk or crazy spikes (assuming) yet you have trouble with bangs!!!

Anyways I'm look forward to all of FXIII games

you can't deny that it looks feminine though
