Yea I hated the FBI part.I really enjoyed the fight scene but I didn't find the FBI stuff that fun.

I think it's coming on Thursday aww crap lol, im clamoring to get my hands on this game, even replaying Indigo Prophecy on my 360 :P
hotel was decent, crime scene was pretty boring but that trailer reminded me it is all about story and this game is gonna have a killer story.
yes the first scene was great, i really got into it. the fbi was boring but im sure it was just to show off the detective stuff you will do and im sure it will get better. the trailer at the end is what sold me the most thoughriver_rat3117
Yeah I agree

I felt like voice acting could use some consistency, and there wasn't much showcasing on any good choices you could make, though its likely because many are long term through the course of the game. It could have also used a bit of faster movement, with the characters walking like a mile an hour.
It looks good though, and its definitely different from other games.

the character control was the only thing that annoyed me...idk why there is not a run button
Fun demo, FBI scene was (as has been said before) pretty boring.
It's nice to see some choices in the game. The first time I played Sleazy Place (I think that's what it's called) I followed the guy and initiated the fight. Second time I played through not only did the girl kick me out before I could ask any questions (different than the first time) but I didn't follow the guy and left. Leaves me to wonder how big your decisions affect the overall story. You could play the same game and your friend would say "Did you play this and this part?" and you could've had a totally different outcome in whatever scene that was.

Well, the segments that were playable were very small portions of the entire story. I'm sure if you just let that one guy beat the **** out of the prostitute, something would have definitely changed over the course of the game.
how many people were like what is this game all about when they first played it? It's not action. It actually challenges your mind. This is like the games i used to play as a kid. I don't know why they ever got rid of this stuff. A game that uses your mind and isn't a twitch fest and nonstop action? omg the horror???
I love it. I wish every game was like this and they'd get rid of 1st person shooters.
The game isn't fresh or new that's the thing. I was playing games like this when i was 10 years old. And they were so much better than all the crap nowadays. Some of them even had a little bit of shooter built into it like police quest but it was more when it was called upon or necessary.

are you talking about traditional adventure games, like broken sword and monkey island?

rofl, come to think of it nothing in the demo requires so much effort other than that
I'm interested in the game (I consider myself a huge fan of adventure games), but I'm still extremely concerned with how it will turn out. Any other game would be butchered for critics for being so uninteractive. The Phoenix Wright games, for example, get marked down for being "interactive novels." How is an "interactive movie?" any different? The difference is Quantic Dream made the term "interactive movie;" by doing so themselves they made the game sound progressive rather than boring. Is anything going to be particularly special about this game, or will it be a terribly uninteractive experience that was better suited for another form of media?
Yeah, the fight scene was pretty intense, but I didn't exactly get the point of them putting the FBI scene into the demo. Since it doesn't actually include any of the afterwards parts of the crime scene investigation, you don't actually get to see how your analysis skills (or "I just wanna do the minimum and walk away from this ASAP skills") affect the actual investigation into the killer, so the whole scene was kinda pointless.

I don't know, not slipping down the mud hill as the investigator was pretty hard.
But the fight scene, pssh, that's EASY.
I didnt go back to the room to save that woman, she was a **** to me, Its these decisions in the game that make it great, you shape the story.

I think in story driven games, when they release a demo, they should make an alternate and random scenario that is in no way connected to the actual game, that way people can check it out without getting spoilerfied.
So I assume the there's no demo for the UK?... I hate it when publishers do that, they could have made a sale with me since Im on the fence with the game as Im sure many others with games like this. Dumb decision. Too_tight_shoesJust make a US account :P I have a UK/US/JPN account for PSN. Unless if the stuff is literally Region Coded.

Check this site if you want it now. Works with a UK account. It's a web game that gives you a code for early access to the demo at the PS Store.
I think the FBI part was to gather clues for later in the game. The problem of making a demo for this game is that you can't reveal a lot from the story.I enjoy most of the demo except for the FBI part. I thought I was suppose go somewhere instead of scanning a few things and then returning to my car.

Yeah the slipping part was the hardest for me too. I missed some punches on the fight scene but overall I owned the guy :PI downloaded the demo today thanks to the info from Kotaku, and yeh I really enjoyed it. While the FBI part was a little more boring than the first scene, I have no doubt that the actual game, when taking the story and characters (along with their development) into context, will be an awesome ride.
Im in the UK and three days ago I just went to precinct52.com and got my code you need to register with the heavy rain website first then put the clues together and theres your code, thank you vary much.
I didnt like the demo the screen tearing got on my nerves a bit but it was all just sooooooo boring to me, I would like one button to get his inhaler out I just dont care enough about any imaginary character to push the stick one way to get it out and then push another button to pump it. Ive seen the other scenes as well like tying someones tie oh I can do these things in real life and they are made even more boring in a computer game.
sorry rant over just my opinion, if you like it then all the power to you.
i played the demo over the weekend was impressed and will buy it for sure. although not sure if i have to make some arbitrary analogue stick movement for every thing. also thought the voice acting was a little weak, but i have just finished ME2 which has maybe spoilt me slightly
The demo was actually pretty much what I expected the game to be like. I thought it was well done and gave a good example of what to expect from the full game. I mean, you had options (albeit it limited and unable to say what the repercussions are) on what to say, what to do, you got an action QTE, you did an interrogation and an investigation.
But I don't think the Demo is going to change anyone's mind. HR will be a very polarizing game and the demo, I think, will only cement that. People who think HR is nothing but a lame QTE game will still think that. And people who like this type of game and/or wish there were more point and click adventure games will be happy.
Tried the game over the weekend and really enjoyed the game. The highlight was definitely the first scene as I loved fighting that thug and getting an adrenaline rush from kicking some ass. I actually did the scene twice and beat him once and got my ass whooped the other time. LOL. I thought the choices were cool but sometimes hard to see when they are moving around on the TV. The second scene was boring and though I understand why they put it in there it wasn't the mostcapitivatingscene to do without playing on. I also really felt this is where the controls suffered a litlle bit as having to hit different mulitple buttons at the same time can get frustrating at times when climbing the hill. Wish they kept that sequence to just a few buttons going back and forth instead of the 5-6 that were required. Though overall the strory was very immersive and really piqued my interest for this game. I can't wait to play the full version when it comes out later this month as I'm sure this game will be my favorite this year.

During the button holding part, you only have to hold down two or three at a time, max. Once the button meter fills up, it disappears and you can let it go.You don't have to keep holding it until the entire sequence/action ends.
