@organic_machine: More power to you, then. The Medic is an incredibly important role that can change the tide of a match.
Divinity Original Sin. Gives the player freedom as when progressing through missions and engaging in combat. You can literally wipe a whole section of enemies before they even notice you. At almost any level you can progress through each section of the game with very little hand holding. Very excited for DOS:2

So pumped for Divinity: Original Sin 2. I think we are about to get one of the greatest games ever crafted (DOS was already among the best and sequel is taking everything to 11).
@bunchanumbers: I've been meaning to pick that up, after reading your comments, that may be happening today.
OT-I would say Mario 64. Level design was phenomenal, the overworld was a blast to explore, and and its secrets were a blast to find, it had challenging levels, the bosses were fun, the controls were spot on, and it was beautiful when I first booted it up with the bright colors and rich environments. Plus it had no loading times which was a great change of pace after playing on the PS1. Beyond that, I would probably say the Mario Galaxy games. They were like an extension of Mario 64 with cool new features and worlds to explore. 3D platforming greatness.
Resident Evil 4 full of exploits. Doors. Ladders. Looping scripts. Unbalanced upgrade system.
It's influential and undoubtedly a great game - but the design is very far from perfect.
The video you posted isn't an exploit. Krauser takes massive damage from the knife by design. It's one of intended ways of beating him.
You mentioned Quake, which is ridden with exploits, some of which became a staple of the series (like strafejumping).
No game is coded perfectly.
Sadly, it was an exploit due to poor design, Resident Evil 4 is rife with issues much like the previous entries.
Comparatively Quakes single player practically has none. About the most that can thrown at it is poor optimization - which is irrelevant.
It seems Quake should be admired forever while Resident Evil 4 is ok.
Sadly, it was an exploit due to poor design
The video you posted earlier isn't.
The newer video is, but its usefulness is questionable.
Regenerators are easy when you know how to deal with them and you're showered with appropriate ammo for it in sections they appear in.
You're just wasting more than a minute to kill an enemy that goes down in 5 shots.
If you wanna discuss design, i'd like to hear what you've got to say about Quake's bosses.
About the most that can thrown at it is poor optimization - which is irrelevant.
Yeah, let's just forget about spawnblocking. It's really unimportant.
You put down RE4 for being able to cheese one enemy in one and a half minutes, where in Quake you can instagib entire enemy waves just by standing in their spawn.
Diffidently Z.O.E 2nd runner the story the game play the design and mechanics of the game the characters are fantastic and well developed throughout the game i know i am in the minority but i think it was one of the most underrated game of all time its a sham that the third installment wont happen though
Holy shit, never thought I'd see someone else pick ZoE2: TSR. It's incredibly niche.
I wouldn't put so much stock into the story, the characters and script etc, but I've never come across a mecha game that has such satisfying combat and fluidness to animations and gameplay. Fast, frantic, albeit slightly repetitive with some awkward boss battles, but other than that it's sublime. It all comes together when you get that Zero Shift ability and you become a god and you finally become worthy enough to match Anubis which consequently produces some amazing boss fights.
Here's hoping Death Stranding's 5 floaty beings are some what of an indication that there might be some ZoE influence there, maybe.
that would be sweet man although knowing how kojima works i think the game would take a lot of time until we know whats up with the game
