Its not just GS. Many other sites seem disappointed with the game: Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn. Apparently, its a commonly held belief that the game has a worse story than its predecessor. Thats sad, because I thought the story of PoR was awesome. And so did many. Plus the gameplay...well, unbalancingly hard, and more of the same. Nothing else.....I wish IS would just change up the series a bit and give it new life. I love the games, but seriously.....they are doing a terrible job as of now. I just hope the remake of FE1 due out next year for the Ds will be better.....I love this series and hope it doesn't die off (in the States)

It's got mixed reviews.
Also saw some sites give it around a 9.

Ah well, I'm not into these kind of games anyway. Still, heard it's a very good series so I was slightly dissapointed with GS's score.

Its not just gamespot though.....ign's review also criticizes things like the story, the supports, etc. The fact that the gameplay hasn't changed & the graphics are the same also gives me no reason to buy this game till its around $20.

it's clear that nintendo haven't used a lot of their resources for this .. it's more about making a game and selling it

i wish they'd give it a bigger budget, and have the devs truly try to make an amazing game

Im a big FE Fan, and I'm sure I'll eventually pick this up, but just imagine this game if they'd been given the resources the mario galaxy team had.

All hope is not lost, just look at the return of Advance War on the DS... MAN, FIRE EMBLEM SHOULD BE NEXT!

Well, I never thought graphics were a major part of a TBS game. If the story is good, and the levels are well thought out, then that's all it should take for that type of game to be good. I find the score very unjustified. And isn't the GS score it's lowest by far?

The gameplay and graphics have changed a bit for the better. GS review was horribly written, and so far this game really amazed me after I read some other sites who said the graphics are "identical" and the story is "bad." The story surpasses many of the other FEs, bar FE7, and the supports were changed so that they would have a greater impact on gameplay (which they now do, along with Bond supports, and Biorhythm). The graphics have improved, despite what some inexperienced reviewer might say, and the animations are 10x better than the ones in PoR.

If you read the GS review, he seemed disappointed in the fact that it didn't integrate the Wiimote (but for an FE game? That wouldn't make sense). He also just complained about the difficulty the whole time, when in fact it's a bit easier than many other FE titles.

A poor score from a poor reviewer I guess.
