Thats it.....I'm done with the xbox360 and MS! My 3rd system just died on me!

Guys, I just can't tell you how truly pissed I am right now. A few months ago I had to send in my xbox360 to get replaced because of the 3 rings of death and 6 months before that I had to do the exact samething. The current system I have right now which is my third, has been acting really odd the past few days. I haven't been getting the 3 rings of death but the system has been freezing on me while playing games.

Today I finally called customer support and they had me do all the trouble shooting steps. After completing all those steps they came to the conclusion that my system is broken and in need of repair. I almost hit the roof when the told me! Not only is this the third system that has died on me, now I have to wait another 3-4 weeks to get a repaired one back!! I don't know what to do...I'm just sooo pissed!

I LOVE my xbox360 to death but I just can't keep going through all this crap. It's insane! Never in my life have I owned such a faulty piece of electronic equipment. I never thought I would say this but I really feel forced into a corner, and feel that I need to sell my xbox360 when I get it back, and either go with a Wii or PS3. I truly feel I have no other choice.

Before all this happened, I really had no desire to get a PS3 other than maybe for a blue ray player and had zero desire for a Wii. However, I feel I have no other choice. I'm just so pissed and sad in MS becauae I love my xbox360 but it was just sooo poorly put together and has just to many problems. I just don't have the time or energy anymore to deal with all of this. Any of you guys have any suggestions on what I should do? Please no fanboy crap!

You do you have a choice, stick with your 360 and and buy a PS3 or Wii, so whenever it does 3 ring you have something else to play with....

I hear ya brother, Im on my 5th 360. (2nd one since Christmas). I have a ps3 already though, but I can feel your pain.

You do you have a choice, stick with your 360 and and buy a PS3 or Wii, so whenever it does 3 ring you have something else to play with....

No dude, I don't have that type of money. Furthermore, even if I had that type of money I wouldn't buy all the consoles. I like to be well rounded when it comes to my interests. I want to own one console and thats it. I love my xbox360 because I love the games it has to offer and I LOVE xboxlive. However, I've just lost all patients with MS and feel forced into a corner and feel like I have no other choice but to sell my xbox360 and get a system that wont break on me all the time.

I don't really know hot to blog. Its kinda like therapy coming to these boards and talking about the problems that we are having. I just can't believe how pissed off my xbox360's have made me. I've never experienced such problems before with any piece of electronics. Its nuts!

ive been through the same thing and it sucks. at the end of the day just do what you feel like doing. i think it would be a good bet to keep the 360 no matter what other system you get because it would suck even more if they release games that you really wish you could play and end up kicking yourself for it. trade in value would probably be not worth it. whatever though. just do what you feel like. pretty much anyone hear is gonna chime in and tell you to buy the system that they are a fanboy of regardless so coming here for ideas on what to do might not be the best idea.

Invest in a gaming PC. You can play most of the awesome games on the 360 and more.Lab392

Nah...I'm not interested in a PC rig. I dont play games that often to justify spending that kinda money.

Hmmm thats a tough one, I cant imagine having to put up with something like that every few months, and its not like you can go to the store and just exchange it for a working one.....

My Rock Band pedal broke and had to send it in I was so pissed and couldnt stand waiting for it to get replaced which took about a week, now waiting 3 weeks without playing your favorite games?!? I dont see how you can stick with the 360 but if your favorite games are on it, you just gotta stick wit it.

Breath in, breath out. But yeah, I understand what you're going through right now. These faulty hardware is un acceptable but atleast theres some kind of warranty to back you up everytime. The solution might be, buy a PS3 and buy the 360 again when the games you want for it is out and about and maybe by then the price is lower.

I just felt that I needed to talk about it to get the anger and frustration out o my system. The problem is, is that I don't really want any of the other systems. I want the xbox360. However, I just dont have it in my anymore to deal with all of this crap! I love MS and am a huge fanboy of anything MS. However, I feel like someone should sue them for all they are putting us through. It's just not right or ethical.

If I were in your shoes, I would probably opt for the PS3.

but if there is a way you could hold on to it and still get a ps3, then explore that option a bit further.

The problem that I'm having is that I don't really want the PS3 or Wii.... other than maybe having it for the Blue Ray player. I love the xbox360 buts its just insane what I have to go through just to be able to play games!

This happens to me when I play oblivion. My game freezed up on me 7 or 8 times.

Yes, that happened to me as well when I was playing NBA 2k8 and Madden 2008 online. I then called costumer support and then had me run all the trouble shooting steps. They then said that my system was broken and that I needed to send it in for repair. I was sooo pissed as this was my third system I had to return. They were cool and let me have Kameo for free but that still didn't make things better. I wont get my xbox360 back for 3-4 weeks. If I were you I'd call costumer support and ge the ball rolling. Sorry man. I feel your pain.

So you could get it repaired even if it hasn't RROD yet?

Yes, if it keeps freezing that means its not working. They will have you send it in for repair. Call them and get the ball rolling. It will take about 3-4 weeks to get it back. As for compensation and they will give you a free game that costs 19 bucks.

I can't believe how classless some of you people are. Calling him fakeboy and writing owned! Grow up!! To the TC, I feel your pain. I went through a RRoD hassle once and that was all it took for me to give up on Micro$oft. I traded my 360 in for a PS3 and never looked back. My 360 went RRoD after 3 months! I've had my PS3 for 6 months with no issues. The library of games may not be up to par for the PS3 but I expect good things from it in the coming years. Good luck in whatever decision you make!gdp72
