okay i already posts this in the ps3 thread a week ago but i'm still pissed about it so i will post it here too.

Okay the day TIger Woods 10 game came out they put up a TON of downloadable content on the PSN. If all of that stuff was avialable at the time of the release then why isn't it in the game? I thought the point of DLC was to release content made after the game came out. I mean theres got to be at least $100 of downloadable content of the PSN for this game. It really pisses me off:x

It's so they can charge you for it. Just because the developer makes the content for the game doesn't mean they are obligated to give it all to you for free. It would be nice, unfortunately for you, people like Ferrarri's more than they care about making you happy.

Yeah. EA seems to always do this. They did it with Spore. They did it with C&C3. They do it for the Sims. It's the way it is.

I agree with the op on this one.. this DLC stuff is gettin' out of control.. I loved it for oblivion but that was extra stuff on an already big game, also im ok with the fallout 3 dlc 'cause normally it adds a lot to the game in terms of items or gameplay (not the case of anchorage though) But this is getting kinda lame. At the same time all this is entirely optional so I just simply never buy DLC that only adds a single thing or that feels like a rip-off...

I know i'd take the ferrari =P. But seriously, you have a gvood point and i find it all depends on who releases the game. Someone like Valve have a name to uphold and luckily for us they hold themselves to a very high standard (or so i hear and see in their products, they might all just be game making prodigies =P). Not everyone does DLC right. The stuff might be things they made after the game went gold, after thoughts or as i guess the case is with this, its all about the mula and there is something to be said for this stratagy but the only ones who i have seen do payed DLC the best so far is Bethesda.....with Fallout 3. See DLC as a tool, it can be used well or badly, it all depends on ho wields it.

They should be obligated. If i pay $60 for a game i expect to get the full game. They are basically saying if i pay over 100 dollars extra i can get the full game. Thats **** If that stuff was finished on the date of the release it SHOULD be in the game. They are screwing everyone who bought that game.

Is the game unplayable without the extra DLC? People who do not have internet connections cannot fully enjoy the game because they cannot download the content? How are they screwing anyone by releasing extra stuff for a game when it comes out? Ever think perhaps the content wasn't finished when the game went to the manf. to be pressed? You know it takes time to make the discs and cases/books/extras that go with the game when you buy it.

Okay then lets look at it from the consumers point of view. You just payed $60 bucks for a game just to find out a majority of the stuff from the game is missing. Plus you know it takes time to make that content. I doubt they finished the game then immidately went working on DLC and had time to finish it before the release date. And if they did then thats wrong too. $60 is a lot of money. I want to experience the full game

I'm more pissed that there are 2 lines of add ons for 1 game on the PS store. Open up a stupid folder like LBP, RB, and GH do. I just don't buy the games.

If you feel like you aren't getting $60 worth from a game that you just bought trade it in and tell everyone you know that you feel ripped off. They will in turn not go out and get the game. I can understand completely why game companies do this, it's because there are enough people buying the DLC to make it profitable.

Look at it this way, you can buy a standard car, or you can spend extra and get the DVD/TV set up in the backseat. Should the car company be obligated to give away the DVD setup for free just because they have the ability to install it?

The companies give you what they feel $60 is worth, if it turns out they were wrong people won't buy the game. It's a game that all developers have to play.

That's nonsense. The full game is what they decided to sell you for 60 bucks. You don't get to decide what content goes in the game, THEY do. You don't deserve every bit of content that a developer makes for a game. There is no rule of law that says a developer is obligated to do that.

A developer could make a game, split it into 2 parts and sell them one day apart and would have every right in the world to do so. It would suck, but it's their content and they can sell it anyway they want. Just because you drop 60 bucks at a Gamestop to buy it doesn't give you any right to determine what SHOULD be in anything. The only thing you have, is the choice of whether or not to buy it or not.

Lets look at it from someone who does game online then.. you pay $60 for a golf game, and what do you get the package? A rather full featured golf game.. amazing how that works.

and the most successful dlc is expansion paks...... The shivering isles, Burnout's island, The valkeria chronicls alternative campaign.. and the fallout 3 dlc (although they should be longer), I was pissed with bethesda when they started the horse armor, and M$ ran with it... and later Sony.... I loved getting $29.00 expansion paks. Diablo 2 lord of destruction, and others.... a slew of extra areas and content, not just outfits and crap.

GTSaiyanjin2

Tales of Vesperia is a good example for that, the game just was released in my region and there are tons of downloadable Health packs, level boosts etc. Its just for lazy people who don't want to play the game normally, but at least its all stuff thats already in the game and nobody has to download it.
